This is a hidden gem. Rooms were well appointed with a really comfortable bed, high quality linens and towels and the white stuff products in bathroom. Breakfast was superb. Staff really friendly and helpful. Location was idyllic.

Excellent location. The Anchor hotel was right on the southwest coast path. It was a really lovely sea view room. The Anchor has everything we needed. The food was excellent. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the morning.

Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.

Perfect from start to finish, free parking, food and service and staff amazing, will definitely book again.

We had a comfortable & wonderful stay. The owners & staff were very helpful & polite. The hotel was a peaceful setting with wonderful grounds.

Beautiful Edwardian building in its own grounds, with views of bay and town.wonderful lounge full of sofas and easy chairs or there's the sun lounge over looking the garden to the sea.

Beautiful hotel. Comfortable and friendly. Superb staff. Beautiful room with comfy bed and easy to use tv. You could take top ups for hospitality tray frombaskets downstairs Had a lift Lovely sea view. The only down was the shower pressure didn't seem to be right, up on the top floor!.

Breakfast excellent extensive choice, room lovely spacious great view with a balcony tastefully decorated . Good parking available onside. Close to all amenities staff helpful. Bad points, the shown pool and jacuzzi were closed due to the local hosepipe ban apparently this was mot communicated in the hotel website or Expedia only when we got there. Shower pressure not great overall it was good.
