  • Breezy contemporary style brings a chic twist to the authentic stone house that is Casa La Brugna.

    This private retreat overlooks the valley of Monte Molinatico from an idyllic location in the village of Baselica conveniently located at the intersection of the regions of Tuscany, Liguria and Emilia Romagna.

    Its expansive grounds are surrounded by beautifully thick forest teeming with wildlife and offering stunning views over the mountains.
    The space
    The villa’s stone walls and wood-beamed ceilings embody classic Italian country charm while the sleek furnishings and an open-concept layout bring a modern touch.

    Your stay at this luxurious property includes 3 separate double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet on the ground floor and a kitchen with dining table and ample living space on the first floor.

    The villa can comfortably accommodate 6 people with the option to add 2 further beds.

    The living room opens out onto a spacious terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast and coffee before discovering the local area.

    Additionally, there is a separate outdoor living area with a very spacious lounge and dining area overlooking the surrounding woods and swimming pool, ideal for soaking up the Italian sun during the day or relaxed socialising on summer evenings.

    The pool is fully furnished with sunbeds and floating bean bags and is heated outside of the summer season.

    There is also an unground large trampoline that makes not only kids but also adults entertained.

The house and the pool are attractive and comfortable. However, the private road to access the house is in terrible condition and the owner's response to our expressed concerns was not responsible. When we arrived, the house had not been properly cleaned. The pool was quite dirty and we did not believe it was safe to swim in, owing to the debris in it. Regarding the house, we found cigarette butts in an ashtray, a dirty oven, dishes piled in a dish rack, and a freezer so packed with ice that the door barely closed. The road to the house is so deteriorated that one must drive at no more than 5 mph making us very worried that our rental car would be damaged. The owner did not fix it in response to our complaints. The master bathroom has a serious ant problem which the owner justified as "being a house in the woods".Although the house is lovely and the pool area is very comfortable, there are significant problems with the house that must be addressed. The owner failed to take responsibility for repairing them.

Incredible property completely tucked away in the beautiful countryside. The dirt track down to the house is a little nerve wracking the first time but after that you get used to it. The house is stunning with so much attention to detail. We can’t wait to stay again next year.
