A very impressive and imposing hotel that's clearly benefited from a multi-million pound revamp in the last year. I was offered a voucher each day for a free pint in return for foregoing daily housekeeping services and I thought this was a nice perk. Breakfasts are of the self-service variety and generally everything was in good supply, although all the croissants had gone occasionally. All in all an excellent base for a stay in Tynemouth, a gem of the North East.

We stayed at the Metropolitan whilst attending a Rugby World Cup Match at St James's Park. Only 30 min from the City Centre with frequent trains. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms modern and well equipped.

Such a great hotel. Safe and child friendly. The staff are always friendly, helpful and ensure the stay is to a high standard.

Very comfortable hotel with great breakfast options. Walkable into central Gosforth.

My only complaint is - I had to pay to park @ the hotel, that’s ridiculous. If you stay the night in the hotel your parking should be included

We used the hotel as a base whilst I underwent some tests and procedures at the Royal Victoria infirmary. The staff could not have been more helpful and all in all the quality of our stay was exceptional. The bedrooms are understated but well-equipped. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Newcastle and this was the best stay. The room was spacious with a well equipped mini kitchen and we had prepared 2 good evening meals there. The bed was so comfortable and the location made the hotel quiet which is a change to the noise and sirens throughout the night in my other stays! Modern, well furnished and clean rooms. Great location for local shops, cafes and restaurants and 10 minutes walk to West Jesmond metro station. Great value for money too.
