"Beautiful property, we traveled with family and our puppy who enjoyed running in the garden.
Me and my partner stayed in the Exclusive Cabin with a queen bed, our only problem with it was the accesible open shower as it flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Room very clean, linen smelled great and there’s daily housekeeping. Having air conditioning was the greatest thing for the heatwave

"Cosy, quirky and well located. Tintin and Asterisk memorabilia and posters everywhere. Small room, but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately it was a hot evening and the air-conditioner was not blowing cool air, so we got broken sleep. Amazing Italian restaurant across the road (La Scaleta). Breakfast was fresh and well presented. Great location with cheap parking just up the street."

The couple that own the property were very friendly and welcoming. Our check in was quick and easy. The room itself was beautiful. The bathroom gave that little something extra. We sat in the garden until the sun went down. Breakfast was fit for a king and was a wonderful finish to a superb stay. Highly recommend

We absolutely loved our overnight stay at La Ferme de Marpalu. It was just perfect. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautiful with everything we needed. This place is a little gem, nested in the countryside with a fantastic vibe. The host is extremely kind and clearly made a great work with the place, the room was perfect for my family of 4 and we all loved the stay. The breakfast was definitely the best in our month-long vacation in France. When going again to the Loire valley, I'd definitely be coming back a La Source de Bury to use as a base to visit the many castles in the area.

This independent hotel has been refurbished and offers a great base for visiting Chateau de Chambord and the central Loire Valley. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and air conditioned. Free parking on site and even the option of an EV charger (7KwH). I would also recommend for a stop over too. The level of serve was a rare treat too. Light menu is also available in the evening too.

A very pleasant stay at Les Rives du Cher. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, both speaking excellent English. Our room had a beautiful view from the balcony, and it was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was lovely. The hotel is very picturesque, with pleasant gardens, parking for all rooms, and is only a 10min walk from the town centre, with it's historic buildings, and plenty of places to eat. We will be returning...

Our hosts Carole and Ousmane were lovely. The property is homely and very comfortable. We were there for 2 nights and had dinner there on the first night as we were out for the second night. They made us lovely home made pizzas which were thoroughly enjoyed in the outdoors with a beautiful bottle of rose wine.
Ousmane is the main cook and we tasted some of his home creations in the form of some chilli sauce and some conserves over breakfast.
The location is fantastic if you are visiting Zoo...

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather, with temperatures similar to spring and fewer tourists than the peak summer months. The changing leaves add a different kind of beauty to the landscape, especially around the Loire Valley châteaux. It's a great time for those who appreciate cooler weather for cycling excursions and exploring the historic sites without the summer rush.
While summer (July and August) is popular due to school holidays and warmer weather, it can be quite busy, and temperatures can occasionally be very hot.

Along the Quai de la Saussaye, by the Loire River, there are a few venues that offer a more relaxed setting, often with views of the river. These are generally bars and restaurants that stay open later, providing a pleasant spot for an evening drink.
For later evenings, some of the larger hotels in the city centre also have bars that are open to non-residents, often with a slightly more upscale feel.
