The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The pool was lovely. The breakfast was great. The room was clean and spacious. For train travelers, the walkway was not adequately signed and it was quite steep. I would stay again, though."

The Alyth Hotel

The Alyth Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was fantastic value. The modern, stylish rooms sit above "the pub" but this property is quiet and respectful. Decor is updated and there is a coffee machine. No fridge, but the lovely staff will refrigerate anything you have that needs it. Breakfast was part buffet and then a lovely hot plate cooked to order to your preferences. Staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Easy parking on street outside. This is a pretty quiet village and provided a lovely single night haven. We were sorry not to stay another night. Yes there are stairs up to the room so just take the luggage that you need for the night!"

Kindrogan House

Kindrogan House

8/10 Good
"The property was easier to find than we anticipated (Google maps doesn't take you there, but Apple maps does!). Lucky for us, since we arrived late in the evening! A drawn map or diagram accompanying the explanation could help, as roads in the area are not always well labelled. Kindrogan house is very isolated from other services, and it's surrounded by wonderful nature. Walking shoes and binoculars are highly recommended. Becky welcomed us alongside lovely Trevor (the dog) and a warmer welcome we could not have asked for. For a common room, the kitchen was clean and well maintained. This is particularly important to note, as I think keeping a common area so pristine can be a challenge with so many guests coming and going on a daily basis - well done, team! Our bedroom had all the basics one could require and the storage cupboard was very spacious. Unfortunately we couldn't get on the wifi (was not allowing us to connect from any of our devices), but since we were only there for one night, it wasn't worth making a fuss about it. Overnight, two of the toilets near us ran out of toilet paper and there was only 1 roll left in the accessible toilet. It would be helpful for future guests to have access to a stock of TP and other bathroom essentials. Considering the place was fully booked, we did not hear a peep overnight and slept like logs. Great place if one is looking for a peaceful hostel in nature."
