Cooinda Mountain Retreat

Cooinda, meaning “happy place” in Aboriginal language, is a 1930s mountain hideaway in Blackheath. Surrounded by rhododendrons, magnolias, and cool-climate gardens, it blends bright, airy spaces with period charm. Only a 2-hour drive from Sydney, Cooinda Mountain Retreat is a beautifully renovated 1930s cottage tucked away in one of Blackheath’s most sought-after streets. Surrounded by cool-climate gardens bursting with rhododendrons, magnolias, and camellias, this tranquil retreat blends historic charm with modern comforts, making it the perfect escape from city life.

Step inside and you’ll find light-filled interiors with polished Baltic pine floors, original cedar doors, and ornate Art Deco details. The bright lounge is an inviting space to unwind, complete with a cozy indoor fireplace for relaxing evenings with a glass of wine or hot chocolate after a day of exploring.

The home features two spacious bedrooms with built-in robes, comfortably sleeping up to 4 guests, with the option to accommodate a fifth (ideal for a child) on the sofa in the living room. The fully renovated bathroom adds a touch of luxury with a clawfoot bath, frameless shower, and marble tiles.

At the heart of the cottage, a bespoke kitchen with premium Smeg appliances and Caesarstone benchtops makes cooking a pleasure, whether you’re preparing a relaxed breakfast before hitting the trails or a hearty dinner to share around the table.

Guests will have access to the whole property during their stay.
Before You Arrive
- We offer convenient self check-in so you can arrive at a time that suits you.
- Before check-in, all guests are required to complete a quick online verification through our Guest Portal.
- Once completed, you`ll receive your check-in instructions, digital house guide, local recommendations, and the option to request early check-in or late check-out (subject to availability and additional fees).

During Your Stay
- Our home is located in a peaceful residential neighbourhood, so we kindly ask that you respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum, especially during quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
- To ensure everyone enjoys a relaxing stay, parties, events, commercial activities and excessive noise are not permitted.
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property.
- If you`re staying in one of our pet-friendly properties, approved pets are very welcome. Please ensure your pet is added to your reservation before arrival, as a pet fee applies.

A Few Housekeeping Notes
- We ask guests to treat the property with care. Any damage, missing items, lost keys or excessive cleaning required after your stay may incur additional charges.
- Serious breaches of the house rules may result in your reservation being cancelled without a refund.
- If you need to cancel your booking, refunds will be processed in accordance with the cancellation policy that applies to your reservation. Please note that any applicable credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
