The villa itself is beautiful, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Everything around the property is gorgeous, and the views are amazing. My only complaints are regarding cleanliness and transportation. When we first arrived, the toilet was filled with poop and clearly had not been cleaned. We also dropped something and wanted to clean up the mess, but there was no broom or dustpan available. If you’re planning to stay at this villa and spend time exploring outside of the property, I strongly recommend renting your own 4x4 vehicle. Do not depend solely on the villa’s driver to take you around. You may have to walk down and back up a very steep hill, and it can be difficult and unsafe. I actually fell while walking on it and injured my hands and knees. Despite these issues, the villa is beautiful, the scenery is stunning, and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. With better cleaning and easier transportation access, the experience would be much better.

I checked in around 5:30 pm and there was no receptionist. I was escorted to my room by the very friendly and apologetic security officer. The first sight that greeted me was lizard poop on the armchair and a big fat lizard on the wall above. I could not stay in this room so I was escorted to the one next door. I didn’t feel safe in this room as the balcony door did not close properly and therefore could not lock. The door track was filthy. Additionally the latch above the entry door was loose and missing a screw. When I got up during the night to use the bathroom there were two cockroaches running around the shower stall. At breakfast the next morning there was no one at the entrance to the restaurant. I seated myself and on the chair next to the one on which I sat was a dead maggot being swarmed by ants. Based on all of the above I cut my stay short and checked out at 10:00 am that morning. I will never stay at Mt. Irvine again
