"My husband and I have used this hotel the past few years because it’s clean, comfortable, and easy to access our favorite spots! We usually stay on the second/third floor. However, the only room available was the 1st floor. Our only complaint is that we can hear every movement upstairs, we were woken up early everyday of the trip because we could hear the doors and footsteps and cleaning crew. Other than that, everything went smoothly! We love the free parking on property."

"Pacific View Inn was a very clean hotel in a great location! Staff was friendly and there were beach towels and beach chairs to use which was very nice. Our room (104) was maybe the worst room on the property because our door was at the base of the entrance to the upstairs of the hotel, so it was very noisy and lacked privacy due to its location next to the outside sidewalk. Also, the room above us had creaking floors which was another reason our room was noisy. Upon check-in, I mentioned to the staff that I wanted to switch rooms if possible and they said we could see if anyone checked out the next morning, but we chose not to since we were all settled in. Moving wasn’t worth the hassle at the time, but in retrospect, I would’ve definitely changed rooms if I had it to do over again. I’m not a complainer:) In general, it’s worth mentioning that our room could have been more quiet if other guests were more courteous and conscientious in the surroundings both when entering the upstairs as well as being more quiet above us, but people just don’t seem to think that way these days- I’m not old. Parking was a challenge, but we opted to pay for one of 4 dedicated reserve hotel parking spots, otherwise it would have been stressful. I would definitely stay at Pacific View Inn again, but only in a room upstairs that has an ocean view. I loved the central location and being able to walk to many restaurants and shops! It was a nice, affordable and clean air conditioned hotel."

"Loved our stay here. The location could not be more perfect with easy walking access to the lovely beach, restaurants, and pretty neighborhood. The area is very nice, safe, and perfect for walks. The owner is a total sweetheart and was close by and very helpful when needed but otherwise gave us our privacy. The kitchen is well stocked, the back patio is shaded and a nice place for coffee or meals. We brought our 2 young grandchildren with us for part of our 9 day stay and they slept on the pull-out sofa bed. There are plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, 2 surf boards and lots of beach toys to make sand castles. We brought a domed pop-up to provide extra shade but a standard beach umbrella is provided."

"The location was excellent right across from the ocean. Nice to have a parking spot. The communication was excellent. But the unit needs some TLC. It is an older building — the bathrooms have been renovated and are good. The towels and linens were very nice. But the kitchen was old and not well equipped. No AC was a problem as it was hot when we were there— consider portable AC units in windows. The windows and screens were dirty and not all windows had screens which made it difficult to get a cross ventilation going. The sliding doors to the front deck needs a screen to get good cross ventilation. I did reach out to the manager with these complaints and they were very responsive and said they would take care of these issues. It would be a 5 star place to stay if a little money was put into this place. You can’t beat the location."

"This property is exactly as advertised.For San Diego, Pacific Beach it's great, two blocks off the beach, but the walk down/up the Tourmaline parking lot is steep. A quieter part of north PB.There are ceiling fans in every room but no AC, which generally you don't need in SD except a few days a year, and most summer days you get a good breeze off the water,There are steel security screen doors front and back which help with opening up the place but lend an odd feeling of insecurity to the property/neighborhood?The kitchen is up to date, and small but serviceable - we intended to eat out during our stay and didn't need much. Dining options are myriad and on the outside edge of walkable (for us) trading quieter for food proximity, knowing parking is at a premium in PB.The owners were perfectly communicative, we had zero issues and they provided every opportunity should we need anything - as well as documenting everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay.Beds were very comfortable.All in all we would absolutely stay here again, and recommend this property highly!"
