Surfer Beach Hotel

"The location was the best part! Right on the beach. My kids were able to freely walk around. It was very safe.Parking wasn’t an issue at all. Free parking right upfront. You would have to wait in the morning times but a lot availability in the afternoon. We hardly moved the car during our stay since there were a ton of places to eat. Flamingo was right next door and food was great! They even had chairs, umbrellas, bigger boards at our convenience. The hotel wasn’t a 5 star but it did what it was needed for and that was to sleep, shower and change. It was clean just dated being that it’s probably so close to the water. Moisture. Like I said it was perfect for me and my kids to run in and out to go to the beach. The staff was very friendly. The two gentleman that worked there were so helpful with any thing I needed."

"Loved this hotel, parking onsite is very pricey but secure; however, it’s all about location…right on the beach in PB on the border to mission beach. Very easy to get to, staff were super friendly and helpful, room was very clean and quiet. It was my birthday weekend and they put me just one floor above the pool area which has direct access to the beach. I didn’t want to leave and will most definitely return."

"Great stay for our girls trip to San Diego! Beautiful tropical themed lobby with a waterfall and koi pond. Pretty grounds, nice pool with drink and food options, coffee shop was perfect for grab n go coffee. Perfect location and walkable to both Mission and Pacific Beach. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant was a bit pricey but nicely located with a view of the beach. Our room was clean but the only negative thing that needs some attention was the damp carpet. I know the humidity was high when we were there but it was a not something that I enjoyed. The hotel is a bit older so for the most part it was kept up beautifully. We had a room that overlooked the pool with a balcony. I would definitely stay again."

"Pacific View Inn was a very clean hotel in a great location! Staff was friendly and there were beach towels and beach chairs to use which was very nice. Our room (104) was maybe the worst room on the property because our door was at the base of the entrance to the upstairs of the hotel, so it was very noisy and lacked privacy due to its location next to the outside sidewalk. Also, the room above us had creaking floors which was another reason our room was noisy. Upon check-in, I mentioned to the staff that I wanted to switch rooms if possible and they said we could see if anyone checked out the next morning, but we chose not to since we were all settled in. Moving wasn’t worth the hassle at the time, but in retrospect, I would’ve definitely changed rooms if I had it to do over again. I’m not a complainer:) In general, it’s worth mentioning that our room could have been more quiet if other guests were more courteous and conscientious in the surroundings both when entering the upstairs as well as being more quiet above us, but people just don’t seem to think that way these days- I’m not old. Parking was a challenge, but we opted to pay for one of 4 dedicated reserve hotel parking spots, otherwise it would have been stressful. I would definitely stay at Pacific View Inn again, but only in a room upstairs that has an ocean view. I loved the central location and being able to walk to many restaurants and shops! It was a nice, affordable and clean air conditioned hotel."

"Absolute perfect view of the ocean from the patio, pretty modern upgrades. The check in process was very detailed and easy, just wish it had Air conditioning. We would stay again though in the future and would highly recommend if your visiting San Diego"
