Absolutely love the hotel I'm in. Nice room, great restaurant/bar and the location is absolutely perfect for me. I've been able to walk to so many places, that almost never is the case in LA. Love love love it.
Hotel location on Westwood Blvd is convenient to restaurants and shopping; short drive to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Entry and exit via car can be tricky due to narrow driveway. Check-in area, tented lobby area and guest room décor are smartly appointed and appear to be newly refurbished. The guest rooms tend to be very noisy (could hear the TV in the room above mine as well as the guests above my room walking). My room smelled of bleach upon arrival and requested air freshener which was immediately handled.
Stayed at this cute Westwood Village establishment in July 2015 and, again this Christmas 2015... Loved the various rooms EXCEPT, the plugged toilet, plumbing system leading to a backup with mess (July) ... as well as, noticeable dirty ceiling fan and walls with ceilings dotted with clumps of dust bunnies. Told management and staff about issue, told the maintenance man (NOT housekeeper) was the responsible party. Regardless, this last week (December 2015) stay proved to be 'deja vu' despite another room with a lovely patio... The room always appear clean... However, upon closer examination, one will find consistently filthy walls and ceilings covered with dust buynnies and filth. The ceiling fan and ceilings covered with filth (located above beds and bedding). Again, informed the desk manager and completed feedback form for the hotel owners... Again, told, the housekeeper was only responsible for daily clean-up of rooms. That the deep cleaning of ceiling fans, walls, ceilings, carpets, plumbing, etc... are the maintenance man duties. I'm not sure. The owner and senior manager need to start closing each room or two at a time and start top to bottom 'deep' cleaning of each room throughout the whole hotel. I WILL NOT return, nor recommend this lovely place UNTIL these actions are completed. A committed, but confused customer.
