The Golf Hotel
8/10 Good
"All good and hotel met expectations. Hotel is perhaps a little tired and in need of some refurbishment but rooms clean, beds comfortable and good shower, ideal for golf trip accommodation and reasonably priced. Only thing to watch out for is my room was next to the kitchen extractor fan that comes on at 7am so don’t expect a lie in if you are in room 6"

"Very friendly and professional staff, room clean. The only fault if you do not have own transport it was impossible to get a taxi also this meant you had to eat at the services which can be expensive."

"For us it was very much a functional pit-stop that was good value for money compared to the increasingly expensive competition. The hotel and room is fairly tired & basic but was quiet and what we needed."

"Amazing staff, great location and parking The food is average and the menu is very limited, the room (19) has been updated recently but was right by the the main road and a noisy extract fan on the floor below which came on at 4.15am every morning. Overall it’s a nice big hotel that has been in the process of renovation for the last few years. It would be a much better experience if they could expand the menu and quality of the food."

"Wonderfully clean room which may have been recently refurbished with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Potentially going through a ful refurbished, dining area not as nice as the room and the staff."

"Everything went very well except that on our second morning the hot items for breakfast still were not out at 6:40 am so we had to leave without it."
Manor House Hotel Cockermouth

"I’ve stayed at the Manor House many times on business and enjoyed it immensely. The owners are so warm and can’t do enough for you. The free parking is a boon and the breakfasts are excellent. It’s just a few paces to the centre of Cockermouth. I recommend the Jennings bar in the newly opened brewery. It’s a Mecca for real ale aficionados and the terrace overlooking the river is fab"
