Beautiful facility and landscaping exquisite with a view of the lake. Not on the lake, but very close. Our room was very humid, no A/C. Very disappointed that parking, breakfast and exercise room all cost an extra fee.

What a great hotel! The reception staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and the en-suite was spotless.

Luxurious property if you pay the price for a room with a view of the lake and pool. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Beautiful pool with tunnel access to an indoor pool at a neighboring hotel. Bar a bit pricey. We had lunch once but better and less expensive food in town. Short walk to town. We enjoyed a few relaxing days after traveling for two months.

Awesome amenities
There's a very specific definition of luxury here—lots of shiny gold trim and loud floral prints. That lack of restraint isn't my taste, but the price is right and the location is incredible. Plus, the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the staff was warm and professional, and the amenities are top-notch. Access to the nearby Hotel Dino's amenities is a plus, especially since it has a lakefront pool. Both hotels are steps from the train station and the ferry terminal.

A wonderful stay
A wonderful hotel, beautiful, immaculate and great location. Rooms spacious and comfortable, staff very friendly band welcoming. Pool area was particularly lovely, and enjoyed relaxing and cooling down here. I would highly recommend the Simplon, and would definitely go back. We had a fantastic stay here.

Absolutely First Class
Every aspect of this hotel is outstanding! The staff are exceedingly helpful, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the grounds are beautiful. As we took no meals at the hotel, I cannot comment on this feature. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Lago Maggiore.

Nice, traditional hotel! It was very close to town and had a nice pool. Great staff. The town is quiet, so it was nice being just two miles away from Stresa.

Relaxing stay
Overall a good stay at the Simplon. Very friendly service and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Great to have access to the Dino hotel for sunbathing on the lake and a second restaurant. Baveno is a good destination for a long weekend away but any longer and you'd need to travel for distractions.

Elegant hotel very convenient in a good location
We enjoyed our stay. We recommend this hotel, rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast in a nice and gorgeous room with a lot of food, it is a continental breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet spot on Lake Maggiore. Only 5 minutes from the busier town of Stresa. Only negative - breakfast a bit much at EUR 16.00 pp

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, OUTSTANDING HOTEL, PERFECT AMENITIES.WE REALLY ENJOYED THE HOTEL PRIVATE BEACH AND POOL. CLOSE TO THE RESTORANTS AND FERRIES THAT TAKE YOU TO THE BORROMEAN ISLANDS, STRESSA. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE THAT THE ROOM HAD TWO BEDS INSTEAD OF ONE BIG ONE.

Stayed here for 3 days prior to starting a tour of northern italy. Welcomed by front desk and made to feel like a priority and shown to my room. I didnt have any expectations as a I got a very good deal and although I was put on the side adjacent to the road, my room had enough windows and shutters to make it work for me. The room was clean and comfortable, bathroom a little small. The restaurant was a little confusing with most people having what appeared to be board included. I ate one night but there are lots of options to walk to including a lovely cafe across the road. the pool and grounds were beautiful and baveno much quieter than stressa. Five minute walk to ferry and you can do all the islands. A lovely peaceful stay

I needed a room for just one night and it was very good - didn't try the wifi or pool or dining areas, though. Would be very happy to go back and try it for longer. Excellent value for money, maybe because it isn't high season, no conferences on?

Great location
Not on the lake but view is still very attractive. Quieter and more pleasant hotel than its sister, the Dino, to which it is connected by a corridor but the Dino bar has atmosphere where Simplon's has none. Easy stroll to the ferry boat terminal for access to the islands and gardens.

We had a 'mountain' view room which was very noisy. Breakfast was expensive and the evening meal menu limited...we chose to eat in the town which was excellent.

Fabulous hotel with beautiful lake view.
This hotel is a treat! Very upscale, a feast for the senses. Right on the lake, with a beautiful view, lovely pool, and connected to a sister hotel a block away by a tunnel filled with famous art. The staff is amazing, going above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied. Nearby Stresa is just a bus stop away and filled with sights to see, wonderful shopping, and excellent wine and cheese shops.

Amazing part of the world, not a very good hotel.
The stay was wonderful. The hotel is fake old decorated and nothing really works: sockets pull out of the wall, the shawer splashes everywhere, the internet costs a lot of money and doesn't work very well.

Superb hotel with facilities of DINO next door
Staff could not have been more welcoming. Only downside was the cost of food in the hotel. However opposite is a really good reasonably priced restaurant. Otherwise we preferred our short stay in Stresa to Baveno. If travelling by public transport we found the train difficult going to Stresa. Returning from Baveno we used the bus, booked by the receptionist at The Simplon. This was only 12 Euros dropping us off at Malpensa T2 Promtly

Hotel Simplon far exceeded our expectations. Everything about the hotel is first class. The decor is classy. Our room was fantastic. It has old world elegance but with all the modern conveniences. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and helpful. The front desk had all the boat, bus and train schedules to make excursion planning a breeze. The pool area was immaculate. We loved Baveno. We thought Stresa would be too touristy and we were right. You can make all the island connections and catch the train to Switzerland right from Baveno. There are enough restaurants for diversity for a stay of several days.

Hotel Simplon - great staff.
Hotel location is good for accessing the boat departure point and shore side restaurants, and the garden and pool area is lovely. We had a lake side view junior suite and it was lovely, well furnished and comfortable and a nice bathroom with a good shower and nice fluffy towels and bathrobes. Unfortunately on our first night there my husband was taken ill and we needed a doctor twice in the night and he had to go to hospital in Verbania the following morning. I cant praise the hotel staff enough for their help and support through this - they were very helpful and concerned and helped with translation with the doctor. They also found a taxi driver who took us to the hospital and stayed with us to help with translation and showing us where to go etc - we could not have managed without him. Fortunately the trip to hospital sorted things out and we went on to have a great time at the Hotel Simplon
