Located just far enough out of Colombo to be quiet, yet can easily walk to Galle Face Green if you wish. The hotel is clean and staff are great. Plenty food and beverage options at reasonable prices or try Galle Road for street food. Take the free shuttle to the beach lounge for a swim in the sea or just relax on the sea front. The roof pool is busier than the beach lounge but still always room available. High Tea was very good and the Tides buffet was super.

My family are Sri Lankan and what struck me was the ridiculous prices for Tuk Tuks outside the hotel, one offered a ride for 1,000 rupees, but reduced to 800 when i laughed.
