"We are three girls who stayed for two weeks and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room was cleaned everyday and that was very nice. The food was allright, and the people who worked in the kitchen/restaurant was very welcoming and helpfull. The best part of the trip was the people who worked with enternainment and activities. The property was very clean and big. You can be sure to walk off all the food from the all inclusive. The staff are very welcoming. Special mention to reception staff Lewis and Leno Reis who were patient with our requirements and also made recommendation on must visit local places. They were always on hand with any queries we had. Also a special mention to bar member Giovanni who went out of his way to ensure he assisted me as i was carrying a baby and another child on hand.

Lovely hotel, spread over large gardens which makes it feel very uncrowded. Sea view room was very nice, spotlessly clean with fab bathroom. Staff are very helpful and friendly , especially the guy in charge of the bar upstairs! Very well positioned next to town on the best part of the beach. Highly recommend.

The photographs and hotel description on the website do not fully prepare the visitor for this very unusual hotel where all the rooms are basically very well equipped wooden sheds. Nicely located, right on the beach and with a nice pool. An easy 15 min stroll along the beach to the centre of Santa Maria. Rooms were clean and spacious and well re-stocked each day, including with lots of bottles of water (this is necessary: don’t use the tap water!). Staff were very helpful in arranging transfers to and from the airport.

I stayed at Hotel Da Luz for a week, the hotel has been recemtly refurbished to a high standard, my room was clean and kept clean throughout the week. The staff were attentive and helpful, ordering me taxis when needed and answering my questions. Breakfast was a fairly standard continental one but for the cheap price i paid for they stay was better than expected. Angulo beach bar is just a few minutes away where you can hire paddle boards and windsurfers etc, swim
