Tunnel Mountain Resort

"Tunnel Mountain Resort is a refreshing place to have base camp while you fully explore the beautiful area in and around Banff. The check in process was quick and they give you a lot of information and bus passes. The parking is pretty good; most days we were within steps of our door. We didn't use the bus this time, but it is super convenient and those busses go everywhere!! Don't try to drive in Banff if you can help it. The auto and foot traffic is overwhelming. The room is a great size and we loved the balcony in the evenings. The kitchen is a must-have! We made sandwiches for lunches while exploring. Kept our dining bill down. Note - IGA is a MADHOUSE! Just expect to not be able to get to items without waiting for someone to move (slowly). The beds was the only weak spot for us. The king bed had definitely seen better days and was quite broken down. You can see where each side bottomed out. There was also a queen bed which was less used. We were usually so tired, we slept okay. I'd like to see more layers of lighting. The lights are pretty golden Edison bulbs, but at our age, I need more overall brighter room light and task lighting (like over the bathroom sink). The noise is not a problem, even being between a busy road and parking. They have two levels of shades on the balcony windows and doors which was a NICE touch. We always use a sound machine anyway, just in case. The table & chairs were perfect and we used them often. We would love to come back!!!"

"Rooms are pretty clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful when checking in and provided use information. Only problem encountered was the parking entrance and procedure before arrival. If that info can be provided would make the check in process even more smoother. Banff Roam bus system is a completely disaster. People crowding at stops and no accurate information provided at all. Delays, cancellations are very common. If possible, driving is still the best option."

"Loved the staff at temporary front desk, very accommodating. The room was so clean and new. But our balcony faced construction every morning. Construction in hotel, was a problem, had to use stairs alot, elevators out. Pool was nice, great location! Dinner was great at Italian restaurant. The breakfast buffet was not great. But all in all, a great place to sleep 😴, when construction is finished!"

"Lovely big clean room with really comfortable beds. Great location within Banff and easy parking. Staff were all great. Only slight complaints was the water pressure in the shower was quite poor and the buffet table in the breakfast room is very small, so was quite chaotic first thing in the morning with lots of people trying to reach over each other."
