"A lovely place with an interesting history, super friendly welcome, lovely room and everything we needed. We dined there too and the food was spot on, really tasty, good portions and fairly priced. The only thing I would say is that the room was a little chilly and we couldn’t find controls to change that. However I assumed as it was summertime the heating was off, it just happened to be a rainy chilly May Day! I had a lovely deep bath in the freestanding tub and was soon back to being warm!"

"4-night stay while exploring NWales. 48 stairs to 3rd floor room. Clean, comfortable room overlooking rear car park. Average pub food but with quite a few non-availabilities on menu. Despite ordering meal with no chips and being shown order paper clearly marked, meal arrived with chips. Reasonable breakfasts although inconsistent in quantity. Shower over bathtub, good flow, good pressure and plenty of hot water BUT bath tub very slippery and no grab-rail made getting in and out dangerous...

"‘Old house’ recently refurbished. Atmospheric. Lovely grounds. Friendly staff. Younger members of the staff were particularly responsive and effective. Facilities and amenities not quite up to five star standard, no pool or spa. Our ‘Grand’ room was not so grand with small and limited bathroom. Nice terrace but not accessible directly from the house."
