Well-maintained but rooms could use a facelift
The overall hotel is very well-maintained and spotless, but the furnishings also look "well-loved." Style-wise, it feels more Spartan than a luxury hotel but that's a personal preference. Service at Traube Tonbach was very good. Everyone was unfailingly courteous and it was a bonus when the staff at the breakfast remembered our names. One staff member (Christian) learned that we had dined at the 2 Michelin Schlossberg the previous night and went out of his way to recommend some dinner restaurants in nearby Freudenstadt that were delicious but more low-key. Thanks for that! Unfortunately, Schwarzwaldstube was fully booked the weekend we were there so we didn't get a chance to try. Another matter that was a bit of a letdown - because I booked through Hotels.com, I didn't get any communications about how the hotel rate is inclusive of activities. Thus, we had a full schedule planned for the time we were in the Black Forest and we missed out on the hotel's guided hikes, etc. There is a daily refreshment hour with complimentary light bites (you have to pay extra for drinks). I think for someone who did participate in these activities and enjoyed the free refreshment hour, this would be a good value for a luxury hotel.

It’s a beautiful hotel in a great setting: close to many great hiking trails. Their Schwarzwald restaurant is a must even in its temporary location. They have amazing food and service.

Eat at Köhlerstube if you are ever in the area!
We stayed for two nights as a hub to drive through Schwarzwald, and visiting French town of Colmar. The room was clean and spacious, the staff were all friendly and helpful, we had a very good stay. The only regret is we didn’t stay longer to enjoy the hotel and local area. The highlight of the stay was the dinner at Köhlerstube, one of the restaurants within the hotel, which was far better than more expensive restaurants in Paris we visited later in our trip and clearly one of the best we’ve ever been to. Honestly I didn’t expect this in the middle of the forest. The restaurant itself is worth the trip.

Girls trip
The hotel was amazing! The spa was nice, a bit crowed from what seamed like a completely booked hotel. However, the service did not disappoint. The room was clean, spacious and nice views and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

THE Place to Stay (and Dine) in Baiersbronn
Spectacular location, service, rooms and, above all, restaurants. Leisurely lunch at Schwartzwaldstube (Michelin 3*] was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Expensive but worth it!

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful valley
We had a wonderful two days in this fabulous hotel. The view was stunning, the staff very friendly and the facilities excellent. I particularly liked the room balcony and the spa. The breakfast had a vast range of dishes, all to the very highest standard.

Fantastic Black Forest luxury hotel
Our first time in the Black Forest but not our last. This hotel is superb, the staff, facilities, location, food, spa, would highly recommend to anyone wanting to escape the usual summer holiday.

ich würde keine 5* diesem Hotel vergeben .Im Wellnessbereich war sehr voll und es waren sehr viele Kinder, war sehr laut und man konnte keine Ruhe genießen .Im Speisesaal waren mehrere Bedienstete die kaum deutsch gesprochen haben und somit konnte man sich nicht verständigen .Das Essen war teils ungenießbar , versalzen oder nicht frisch zubereitet. Menü beinhaltete keine Vegetarische Gerichte. Zum Auswahl gabs Spagetti und für Kinder Hamburger, was entspricht nicht einem 5*Niveau .Wir kommen nicht wieder. Für den Preis kann man was besseres finden.

Wunderschönes letztes Wochenende vor dem Lockdown
In einer schwierigen Zeit unmittelbar vor dem Lockdown durften wir einmal mehr zu Gast bei Familie Finkbeiner und ihrem Team sein. Es war ein Genuss. Noch nie habe ich in den vergangenen sechs Monaten eine derart professionelle und gleichzeitig für den Gast angenehme Umsetzung der Hygienebestimmungen erlebt. Essen, Zimmer, Spa und Freizeitangebote inkl. Kidscourt waren wie jedes Mal perfekt.

Ausser des Zimmer der Rest war 😊 gut
Mein Zimmer war SEHR klein .sehr altmodisch viel zu warm trotz draußen kühlen Temperatur .viel zu teuer für die Qualität .nach reklamtion habe ich ein besseres Zimmer für die zweite Nacht bekommen.

Swimming pools and services are good. Kids have fun. Only one issue, the first reception said serveral times that the dinner and afternoon snacks are incuded. But finnally when we check out,we paid EUR168 for half board.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review and the time you took for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you had a good stay with us, that you enjoyed our swimming pools and services and that your children had a really good time. We are very sorry to hear that apparently there was a misunerstanding about the half board. All our room rates are always with breakfast and an afternoon snack included only. We have discussed this internally and increased awareness to always give the right informations to our guests. We are looking forward to welcome you again soon and wish you all the best unil then. 1. Tag: Wir haben 30 Minuten ab Bestellung auf den Kaffee gewartet und dann noch weitere 20 Minuten auf den Kuchen. (Die Qualität des Kuchens war...) Frühstück: Coronabedingt ok, aber an den ersten beiden Morgen, keine Frühstückskarte, keine Ansage des Frühstücksangebots. An allen 4 Tagen musste der Zucker und Salz/Pfeffer extra geordert werden. Beim Diner am 4.6. wurde unsere 28 jährige Tochter geduzt, das geht gar nicht! Genüsslicher Nachmittag: Tomatensuppe und Auswahl zwischen 2 (vmtl. industriell hergestellten) Kuchenschnitten. Mein Fazit: In der Corona-Krise sieht man die Qualität des Managements. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich.
