The house was built in 2018 and is our detached, private guesthouse, located in the back of our property. The house is set back from the road, with direct access from the driveway. With my husband and I living on site, I am available as much or little as you need me to be. The house is designed to comfortably sleep up to two couples, or a family with kids. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a sitting area with a couch that folds down to a twin size bed, which may work for those traveling with children. There is also a pack and play available for your use. On the main floor living room, the couch folds out to another bed to accommodate a second couple. This property is very popular for business professionals. Centrally located, we are a mile from downtown and only 13 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The property is located next to the Mopac Expressway, which provides easy accessibility in and out of the neighborhood. The property is walking distance to several neighborhood restaurants, including a fine dining steakhouse, a Food Network featured taco joint and a local Austin coffee shop. Additionally there is a neighborhood grocer and a market, both a ½ mile from the house. Here for a concert?! We are great place stay. We are a short scooter ride away from Zilker Park for ACL or 5 minute Uber downtown for SXSW events. As an outdoorsy adventurist, this is a great place to stay. The house is located ½ mile from the hike & bike trail, which is a 10 mile loop around the popular Town Lake (also known as Lady Bird Lake). Town Lake has several places to rent stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and more. Our favorite place to rent from is Texas Rowing Center. The property is 1 mile from the luscious greenbelt, which is for great hiking, trail running and mountain biking. The greenbelt is also home to several hidden natural watering holes for swimming. And speaking of swimming, the home is located near some of the best pools. Within a few miles, are the natural spring pools Barton Springs Pool and Deep Eddy Pool. Also in the neighborhood are Westenfield Pool and West Austin Neighborhood Pool. Right next door to the property (one house over) is a park, with basketball court, playground, splash pad, and more. In this urban setting, there is some white noise from the nearby interstate and nearby train. From my own experience living on site with my light-sleeper husband and kids, I can assure you it is not too noisy. However, as an extra precaution, I have provided a noise machine and ear plugs if needed. A second noise machine is available upon request. Additionally, both the living room and bedroom have blackout curtains to provide additional sound absorption. This house was perfect! The location was very convenient, the house was well designed and immaculate and everything was explained very simply and thoroughly. Though close to MoPac, the neighborhood was very quiet and our stay peaceful. It was a joy to have the pool to look out upon right outside the living area. We didn’t lack for anything as the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with more than enough pretty things! We would easily recommend this guesthouse and central location when traveling to Austin. I stayed with my three young adult kiddos as we were launching all of them into another year of college! It was a perfect place to stay as it was easily accessible to the UT campus, eateries, local attractions, and Whole Foods. We enjoyed the pool one afternoon and relaxed each evening at the house.
