  • THE CASTLE IS ON DEEP WATER IN A PRIVATE COVE WITH 3 ACRES OF PRIVATE LAND WITH EASY LAKE ACCESS. LESS THAN A MINUTE DOWN TO THE WATER, NOT 10 MINUTES,

    PLEASE NOTE: WE ONLY BOOK VIA VRBO. THIS IS A VERY POPULAR PLACE TO RENT, WHICH IS PRONE FOR SCAMS.

    Come spend your vacation at Captain Jay's Castle on a private, always deep water Lake Travis cove with amazing sunsets year-round ! Lake Travis is not a constant level lake therefore the private floating dock is moved according to lake levels and accessing lake may be more challenging when water is lower but cove is always deep and swimmable! Accessibility may be difficult for young children and those with mobility issues. It’s great for fossil hunting!

    Our private dock has a pontoon boat and jet ski for rent (lowest price and best maintained in area) and is well lit at night to enjoy sitting right on the water. Kayaks, paddle boards, and other water toys are available to enjoy at no extra charge. The cove is a local popular fishing spot so anglers bring your gear.

    The Castle has 3 large bedrooms with in suite bathrooms, a 1/2 bath downstairs as well as an open sleeping area upstairs with a trundle and full sized bed.

    Bedrooms: King-downstairs, 2 bedrooms upstairs- one with queen and one with 2 queens. In keeping with the uniqueness of this home, there are 2 walk-in closets with bunkbeds and pocket doors for extra sleeping. Air mattresses also available for larger parties.

    Our per night pricing is for 8 guests, additional overnight guests will be charged 50.00 per night.

    We love well behaved pets but there will be charge a 50.00 per pet, per visit.

    Our 2.75 acre lot has plenty of room to roam. There is a beautiful large stone patio with fire pit to entertain or just relax at sunset. There are two large decks as well as a rooftop to enjoy dinner and lake and sunset views.

    Our property is Wildlife Certified; many beautiful water and land birds to observe as well as country critters so please do not leave food out at night and bring appropriate footwear.

    Responsible parties are welcome. We take great pride in keeping the grounds and house clean and we ask our guest to do the same upon their departure. Removing sheets and towels and placed in the laundry room is much appreciated.

    Day Use: for additional guests accessing the property but not staying over there will be an extra $10.00 per person charge. For security and liability we must be informed of any extra guests on the property.

    We like to greet our guests and provide a tour of the house and grounds upon arrival. Owner lives on the property in a separate house with several small dogs. While we will not disturb our guests, we do make ourselves available 24hrs if our guests need help or have any questions. There is a tenant downstairs, Chico, who has a boating excursion business who you may see coming and going and also helps with guests when needed.

    There are plenty of paper products and games along with full washer and dryer in laundry room, as well as extra beach towels and sunscreen. Kitchen is stocked with spices and condiments, dishes, utensils, cups, and coffee pots (one is Keurig - bring your own pods). We have three fire pits, Large Life Tyme BBQ Smoker (vertical stack), and two gas propane grills as well as some charcoal grills.

    There is a 90" TV in living room with plenty of streaming services and high-speed WiFi

    We are located directly across Starnes Island, close to VIP Marina and Volente Water Park & Beachside Billy’s. party boats available at the Marina with easy boat loading access. Listen to live music Friday and Saturday nights coming from Beachside Billy's or take a stroll over for dinner and music. We are only 10 minutes from The Oasis restaurant, 20 minutes to Lakeway & Mansfield Dam, and less than an hour to downtown Austin, Uber is available.

    In the event we have a quick turn around, extra cleaning fees might be applied if castle is not picked up properly.

As always, had an amazing time at the castle this weekend. The house was in great shape, very clean, and had everything we needed for a great weekend. This year the water was up in the lake which provided a great cool off in the summer heat. Jeff had floats lined up and ready for our stay. We’ll be back again next year!

The castle was the perfect place to bring our adult-kids together for some family-time. We stayed in Jeff's castle for 10 days. There were up to 10 of us there. The castle is very spacious, and there are many outdoor spaces to enjoy as well! Each bedroom has a ensuite bathroom, and there are a couple of beds in the common space upstairs that are helpful to have. We spent most of our time at the castle and the lake; there was little need to go elsewhere. We look forward to returning.

Girls Getaway

Our friend group was looking for a getaway location with beautiful views and enough beds for us to all sleep comfortably. Our Time With Kids and Grandkids

We had a wonderful time, swimming in the lake, hanging out at the castle, exploring the area, boating on the lake and playing at the local water park. We had 2 great meals at the nearby Beachside Billy’s located at the water park. Lots to do and Jeff was very accommodating.

Extremely satisfied with our stay

This is our 2nd time staying with Jeff, and as always it was 5 star experience, breathing views, boat, paddle boarding, floating pads , grills , potato gun was the biggest entertainment for our kids. All this been offered and we have used every single amenities . Jeff is very pleasant and hospitality oriented I am recommending Jeff's castle to everyone who want to have unforgettable life time memories!

Great time on Spring break.

The host was very helpful and available. Castle and all the decor was a hit with the kids. Lake is a short walk down the hill and he even took us out on his boat to tour the lake and anchor for some drinks and a swim. We just had to pay a captain fee for his time. We had an enjoyable Spring Break and would recommend the place.

Bachelor party

Great stay, had plenty if great accommodations. Get your groceries you’ll want or need for the stay and that’s it. We did not leave. You don’t want to either, great space outside and inside. The water is always there when you want to swim or even go boating/jet skiing.

Fun time with extended family

We had a fun time at the house and Jeff was so kind to take us out on his boat! Our two teenage boys also explored the lake with Jeff’s kayaks. Beautiful sunsets from the balcony. House is filled to the brim with interesting collectibles.

Great Views from the Castle!

Our host was very helpful but unobtrusive. We used the free dual kayak to visit the nearby island. The local restaurant featured a live duck sitting at the bar. (Did he say "Put it on my bill?") Plentiful wildlife on walks included friendly deer and a rooster who wished me good morning. We had plenty of privacy and enjoyed several nearby restaurants.

Amazingly magical experience!

What an amazing and unique vacation!!!! My family of 4 and my brother's family rented out the castle for spring break. Jeff met us upon arrival and gave us a tour. He was so kind and told us so much history about the castle and it's artifacts. The teens had a absolute blast. They went fishing, exploring the property and spent the day rowing out to island. The adults spent time enjoying the amazing view and relaxing. Jeff was so accommodating and helpful. If you are looking for a unique experience, this is the place!!!!

Multiple Stays at the Castle

This was our 6th stay at the castle hosted by Jeff. As always, he was a great host, gave great instructions for check in process, and made sure we’re good after our departure. Truly one of my favorite rentals in the lake Travis area, we’re already planning our trip back for next year. D&D & BBQ getaway in a CASTLE!

This is a bucketlist getaway for me and my long time friends. We knew we were going to travel to the area and go on a BBQ crawl while dungeon crawling and what better way that to do it in a castle on a beautiful lake?! Jeff is a fantastic and gracious host who gave us a thorough tour of the property and walked us through the house rules and extra rental options available. We mainly stayed on the first 2 floors and if we had just a couple more days would have spent more time on the top of the castle. Nice fantasy touches through out helped to complete the week for us. So much fun!

This place was bonkers! So much room, so much to do. Mr. Voorhis was friendly and available. The castle has everything you need. There was so much room, everyone could spread out. We had a large group of adults staying the weekend. 3 large bedrooms with their own private bathrooms would be perfect for 3 legit families as each bedroom has at least 2 large beds and/or bunk beds. That doesn't include the additional space on the upstairs living room area. Each bedroom has floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. What a view! 3 balconies, fire pits, grills, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes... The list goes on. I cannot say enough about this place. STAY HERE!
