"This is a superb cottage, finished to an excellent standard and very well equipped. There is no phone signal or WiFi which some people may not like but for us that just added to the feel of having a proper getaway in The Borders countryside. You can’t walk on the immediate estate but that really doesn’t matter as there are plenty of walks in the area. "The pictures don't do it justice. The accommodation was a pleasure to spend time in. It was spacious, warm, and comfy. The area is beautiful and conveniently close to everything we need without being in town. The hosts were welcoming, and communication was smooth and prompt. "The cottage is in a courtyard of a small stately home but it is really quiet and peaceful. We saw a deer in the grounds at dusk and were hoping to see otter or badgers (there were footprints). Plenty of swans and even nesting cormorants in the trees. The property has everything you need ... plenty of kitchen equipment if you wish to cook in, warm and cosy and a lovely area to visit."
