Top Aransas National Wildlife Refuge Hotel Reviews
This charming lodge is the ticket to comfort & convenience, everything you need!
8/10 Good
"The house was better than the listing in my opinion. We had a family weekend (6 adults & 2 children) with plenty of room and the amenities were amazing. Our favorites were the bathrooms, the game room (with a Bluetooth speaker and microphone), and the commercial kitchen for us to cook our days catch. The large outdoor area was great to play catch with the kids. Plenty of room to sleep a large group and the beds were very comfortable. The house is just off the highway and easy to spot. Big box stores (HEB & Walmart) are about a 10 minutes drive each way. You can be at Fulton Pier in 15, and a beach in Port Aransas in about an hour via the ferry. The only reason for the four star rating would be for a few unwanted guests during our stay (a la pests). We had to deal with a few wolf spiders, cockroaches, and some ants in and around the kitchen which had us throw out quite a bit of food. I would recommend a good pest control treatment around the entire property. Given the overall experience I would recommend and would consider booking again on my next trip to the coast. "
4 Mi to State Park: Peaceful Rockport Home w/ Yard
8/10 Good
"Spacious property in a quiet neighborhood with great opportunities to see wildlife. Over the weekend we had multiple deer come through, a large turtle cross a couple of houses away, and multiple birds. We even got to see a gator at the viewing area down the road. Everything is neat a clean, with plenty of dishes and pans to use during our stay. On the down side the walls are are super thin so you can hear every inside if you stand out in the driveway (or across the house). Thank you for having us!"
Spacious 4-bedroom house in charming Rockport with AC, WiFi BAR
10/10 Excellent
"The home accommodates large families but is more like a fisherman’s paradise in regards to sleeping quarters. There are three private bedrooms downstairs and there is an huge upstairs bedroom that has beds for about maybe 12 people or more. Great for family reunions where you can put all the kids upstairs. Only problem is there is no restroom upstairs and only an outside entrance—no indoor staircase. So if you gotta tinkle at night—you gotta use the outdoor staircase and come into the main house. Other than that it’s a great place for large families. The back garage has a pool table, large bar, tv, ping pong-super nice but can use some remodeling. It was cold in there and there wasn’t a portable heater. We made the best of it and could all hang out and play games. I think overall I give the place a four out of five—just because it was comfy and all the family could be together. That’s what’s more important for me than luxury. So think of the place as a hunting/fishing no-nonsense place where you can lay your head. But the entire extended family can be under one roof. Oh—the house sits on probably an acre so plenty of parking and a super nice fire pit. Lots of wildlife—deer—roaming around that you can feed. The place could also use some nicer bedspreads! I did leave a couple things behind and tried to reach the owner but he never got back with me. Disappointing but it was the thanksgiving weekend so I’m guessing he was busy with his family. "
