"Hotel was lovely and clean. Williams are nice and big. The only downside was the bed was very uncomfortable very hard. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good."

"Attractive and historic hotel with handy parking, close to the centre of a beautiful village. We loved the maze-like interior, creaky staircase and quirky decor (unusual choice of carpet and soft furnishings). We had a large, clean room with a huge en-suite shower room. We really appreciated the desk fan in a very hot day. The breakfast was great and all staff we met were lovely."

"Paving in garden area uneven. Coffee not always available in some bars. Pond needs warning signs, and safety features for young children. More towels needed in room. Reception lady with blonde hair, on arrival, not very friendly. On breakfast, food luke-warm, bacon and scrambled eggs dry and tasteless. Plates cold and had to chase cutlery and plates not cleared."

"Clean and tidy, bed very comfortable, firm how we like it. En- suite was very nice shower very good. Not much draw or cupboard space, but didn’t really need much. Tv was very good with Internet connection. Food was good but not excellent, breakfast was very good although replacing missing items was slow, but staff were very obliging. I thought the bar was a bit lumpy, £7.10 for a pint of Brixton pale ale. £5.60 for similar in the White Hart across the road was more realistic."
