The Stage Apollo Theatre, Stuttgart
One of Stuttgart’s principal entertainment complexes and one of Germany’s largest and best-appointed theatrical venues, the SI-Centrum welcomes two million visitors a year. The SI-Centrum boasts two theatres, the Stage Apollo and the Stage Palladium, as well as a casino and a wide choice of restaurants, bars and cafes. There are two hotels, the Dormero Hotel and SI Suites, on site, as well as extensive conference facilities and a CineMaxX multiplex.
In a sumptuous red-velvet and gold-décor head nod to the glamour of days gone by, the Stage Apollo Theater opened in 1994 with seating for over 1,800 visitors. While it pays homage to an earlier era, the Apollo is a modern, technically advanced space which has hosted blockbuster shows such as Miss Saigon, 42nd Street, We Will Rock You and Tarzan. Equally technically superior, the Stage Palladium Theatre, over the road, opened in 1997, boasting a similar seating capacity and a similar ability to stage the biggest shows – the Palladium has hosted Mamma Mia!, Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera and Chicago in its time.
