Weekend Stay at the Park Plaza
The hotel felt very warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped in to the reception. I was going to list off how friendly each of the staff were. However, I think it would be easier to say that every member of staff we came in to contact with during our stay, from the receptionist to the cleaner, were friendly, talkative and always happy to help. We genuinely felt that every member of staff cared about our happiness and ensuring that we had a pleasant stay with them.
Room: We stayed in the Urban Wing, much to the annoyance of my partner who wanted to stay in the Victoria Wing (not that we requested either or disputed what we were given, very English of us). The room itself was fresh, clean and had all the amenities you would expect in a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was fresh, a nice walk in, powerful and warm shower. A large portion of the bathroom mirror was heated, so there was none of the usual issues with the mirror misting up, a nice touch I thought. The bathroom was also fitted with ‘night lights’, which were actually a nice touch in the middle of the night as they provided just enough light to see where you were going, without waking you up too much. A large super king bed, which was comfortable, apart from the ultra-soft down pillows on offer, but I think that sort of thing is always personal preference anyway.
