The hotel staff are very rude. There is also a ridiculous amount of noise coming in from the outside but also from the rooms adjacent.

This property does not have elevator and none came to clean/tidy the room. It was extremely hard to carry luggage to third floor. Will not recommend for families especially with kids.

Awful, place is just a very run down hotel not worth one star, very unhygienic, rude and sarcastic housekeepers, walls like paper, death trap stairs, stained and damaged everywhere. I felt unsafe whilst there and was happy to check out. Would not return if they paid me to stay there.

Very poor, not as advertised. Shared toilet, showers, very steep stairs, windows do not close. On main shopping area, Central to everything and fairly clean Reception was useless, blamed advertising company for description of rooms.

An ok Hotel in an Excellent area. The staff were nice and helpful, the bed was reasonable and the shower itself was brilliant (powerful and the temperature was very easy to adjust). Improvements: The Hotel has a lot of potential. It really need a refurbishment - new carpets, new paint on the walls, new doors, and whilst the shower itself was good, the shared shower room and toilet room really needs renovating. It’s a perfectly good hotel, with nice staff and in a perfect location with so many things within a reasonable walking distance. I just think with a good renovation, it’ll become even better. Thank you, Tom.

Read the reviews, look at the number of stars. If you want first class luxury, neatly folded bog roll ends, a great paint job and a lift to all floors you're looking at the wrong place. If you need somewhere cheap, you have no mobility issues on awkward stairs and don't mind some noise then this does the job. A Hilton or Radisson it's not. A bed close to the station in the most unpretentious hotel you can image then this may be for you. If you go in with really low expectations there is little danger of disappointment.

The location is awesome however the room is very small for amount of money paid for 3 nights. There is no lift so if you stayed on the 4th floor like me it’s almost like climbing Mount Everest

Extremely small rooms, sharing toilets & showers outside the rooms, no oxygen, no air, stress level high. Not recommended at all. Extremely very high to the top. Not safe at all . Couldn’t sleep. NO REFUND IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE .

Dear guest, we very sorry to hear that you was not happy staying with us. But you wa very aware of booking a 1 star hotel, there are always two options booking a room with us, shared or ensuite. We did notmade tyhis reservation, you did. Every room has a window so air comes inside. You can also come to the reception, see if we can switch the room, we did not see you down here. And this hotel is very safe, the reception is 24hours open and we have cameras everywhere. Next time go to the reception and there will be no stress.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Needs to be given a total upgrade. Even getting to your room is difficult and the staff don’t show you the way or even offer to help with your bags. The hotel manager even came late to work so we had to wait for our room. So sad excellent area but sooo bad

Facilities need Attention
It should not be listed as a hotel. Maybe a hostel. Room was not clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The staircase railings need to be repaired and secured firmly to prevent a serious slip and fall liability incident from happening. Super convenient location!

Great location! The rest was very poor! No lift... dangerous stairs with loose "handle rails"! All walls and doors need a good scrub. Grit everywhere. No hand towels; no bath mat; No soap in our soap dispensers!

Not recommended if you have much baggage. Read.
Although well located, this hotel is the combination of two very old buildings in central Amsterdam. The people were friendly, and the room was average. However, there are NO ELEVATORS and our room was up four floors from the entry level. There are separate stairways for each of the original buildings (other than from the ground to the first floor). You need to look for a sign for your room number to see which stairway to take from the first floor up. The stairs are narrow and steep. We had a terrible time getting baggaing for three people upstairs.

AVOID! Or regret!
Horrible! Nightmare! Avoid! Very noisy, no comfort at all! Very expensive for it, regardless of it’s in the central. I cannot relax in this hotel! Outside the room window they gave us is filthy! The local goverment in amsterdam should have check the quality of this crappy hotel! If i only knew, i should have paid an extra 300 to get a different hotel! Bathroom drain is blocked! I have to do the cleaning for the drain! Room is so small and crappy! It’s like u are in a council house with low life people.

Central location
I have stayed here a number of times, why do I return ?, because it's very central location only a few minutes walk from the central station is so convenient, it is close to late night music venues etc., it is somewhat basic, but is very clean and the staff are helpful. One word of warning, the very steep stairs may not suit older or less energetic visitors, but this is typical of many hotels in the area.

Nightmare, you must pay a lot for this hotel (hostel) because of the location. Be aware, it’s only a 2 star at a push! Me and my son were so close to walking out and trying to book elsewhere. Not a good place to take a lady that’s for sure. We had a twin room with private WC and shower, that said it was so small we had to get ready separately. No coat hangers and if there were, the wardrobe would have fallen over if anything was hung inside. If you want cheap and just about acceptable, try it for yourself….

Worst experience I have had as far as I remember. The guys at reception look dodgy as hell, look (and behave)like members of marfia or gang in the movies. (Not sure they actually are or not.) Rude staff who are treating their customers as worthless or as if the customers owe them something big. I don’t really understand how they could manage to continue business like that. May be due to convenient location in the city centre. So bear in mind you have to trade off everything just to stay at convenient location.

YEOW! Avoid at all costs
Wow! Really BAD hotel. Teeny-tiny rooms up LOTS of staircases which were narrow. Tiny bathrooms. Door handles fell off in our hands. No TV (it had apparently fallen off the wall). No breakfast, even though advertised as "free breakbast." Front desk clerks very grumpy and unhelpful. NEVER STAY HERE. Overpriced and terrible.
