Good location, 25 minute walk from central station. Lots of food and shop options near by. Room was comfy and clean however it did have some mould that needs to be addressed.

The room was smaller that the one i have reserved and paper walls, you could hear every little thing from the next room. The road in front of the hotel was under work so you hear every noise. We leave the hotel right after even knowing i won't have a refund for my two nights.

Our stay in Amsterdam only lasted three nights but it was a memorable experience for bad reasons. During our stay, the temperature in Amsterdam was consistently 30° at a high, our room was at the 4th floor with no air conditioning and facing the afternoon sun. Our room became an oven in the night time that we had no choice but to stay in. If not for a hard-working fan in the corner of the room we couldn't have stayed there without risking heat stroke. On top of that, there was no elevator which is mentioned no where on their Expedia page. We paid about $600nzd (~€300) for a twin room which was more cramped than a shoebox, and not at all what we expected from the photos on Expedia. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the location was very good. But if you're coming to Amsterdam in the summer or the early autumn stay away, it's dangerously hot.

This is a very solid hotel. Front desk staff is extremely helpful. Cleaning staff likes to clean every day. It's an old building, it makes sense. Wifi is good. Bring your own towel. Bring Flip Flops. The location is excellent. Food everywhere. Tram. Museums. Sheets are worn but clean.

Stay there after knowing the facts !
Hotel location is ok where it is close to shops and restaurants. However, the hotel is not having an elevator which very bad when you are given a room in the third floor, so imagine dragging your luggage all the way up. Also, in the details written in hotels it is mentioned that they are having safes available in the room, which is not true at all. If your visit is in Summer, stay away as there is no air conditioning and windows are not designed in a good way to provide proper ventilation.

The hotel is centrally located and near to tram stops, though the convenience implies that sometimes you may have to bear the nosie outside. There is no lift in the hotel, so the climb may be a bit tough if your room is on the top floor. Free coffee at the reception in the morning is a bonus. In the room, the furnishings are basic and a bit old-fashioned but usable. The black certains cannot be fully closed and light leaks in. The shower area in the bathroom is spacious and the water pressure is excellent, but it would be nicer if there is a door to prevent the water from splashing out. I did encounter a couple of issues in my room, and the staff have eventually fixed them for me.

Centrally located but very noisy and cold. Old furnishings and terrible beds, towels and cheap toiletries, There was an empty box of pringles left in the room by the window by previous guests that hadn’t been cleared. Building work on the corner started before 8 and it was very noisy so don’t plan on having a lie in! The black curtains are also inadequate and let in a lot of light

Very friendly staff, rooms were clean and the location was great. It's a shame there are no coffee making facilities in the room. There is a coffee machine in the reception area which can be used between 7am and midday but as we were on the 4th floor with no lift, it's not very convenient. Would have been nice to be able to get a coffee in the evenings as well. Our room at the front of the hotel was a bit noisy in the evenings as there is a pub and a restaurant below but the noise didn't continue after midnight.

Great property, right next to a coffee shop and right in the centre of dam square. We was soo close to everything. Staff was lovely even after I had an accident in reception with a hot chocolate which went everywhere. Only issues was we was on the fourth floor and there is no lift but it wasn’t too bad for us. Many thanks to the staff at Acostar hotel.

Great for a low cost stay, clean, great location
Perfect for a cheaper stay, where the room Is just a base for sleeping n getting ready etc. staff are super lovely and helpful, bed was comfy enough and bathroom was lovely. Little bit of noise but expected with the great location - very central. Coffee shop next door. really good location and nice area. TV was weirdly super high up the wall compared to bed haha. Would’ve been nice to have a kettle to make tea/coffee

I was apprehensive of Acostar after reading precious reviews however I’m glad to say I was absolutely blown away by the hotel. Staff were lovely and accommodating, room and bed was clean and comfy. Extremely central and had no issue with walking to wherever we wanted to go - only using the tram to get to and from the airport. Our room was on the 5th floor and was beautiful and bright with skylights. Bath room and shower was also lovely. Overall, very happy with my experience!

Great hotel, perfect location
Hotel is well located near Leidesplein, staff were extremely helpful. Rooms are basic, but perfect for a weekend stay. The Bed was very comfortable, rooms were serviced each day and the shower was great. It was a little noisy to the front of the building as there is a nightclub across the road, but not enough to keep you awake. Rooms are located on various floors so if you struggle with mobility request a 1st floor room. We were on the 3rd floor, which kept us fit during the stay.

Conveniently located in Amsterdam's central district. Within walking distance of practically everything - restaurants, bars, shops, museums, canals, you name it. The hotel itself is very modest and unassuming, but overall a great place home base when exploring the city.

Excellent location within walking distance of basically everything, but I got stuck in what they called a 'twin' room on my first night in spite of booking a double because, when you book a double on Expedia, apparently it's only put through as a 'request' and I had the phrase 'Subject to availability' thrown in my face several times. This 'twin' room was essentially the dead space at the top of the stairs that they had somehow managed to squeeze two single beds into, but even some of the space in the room itself wasn't usable because of an additional four steps shortly after getting through the door. The bathroom was so tiny that you couldn't even sit on the toilet properly because the pipe from the sink was in the way. I made sure I was moved to a proper room the following morning, and it was a vast improvement. Not huge by any means but clean, with a good sized bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Tea/Coffee machine in Reception that was free to use until noon was a welcome addition, and there was some handy bits and pieces you could pick up like maps and mini-cards with details of all the attractions you could visit.

The hotel was a place to stay after exploring the city all day. It was clean, the staff were friendly. We were initially given a room which was extremely tiny, no place to put your suitcase or unpack. The room faced the street which was opposite a night club, the noise was horrendous even for a Monday night. The occupants for the hotel were not quiet either, slamming doors and talking loudly all night. We requested a room change which was done swiftly and moved down to the basement the following morning. The basement room was larger, place to store your items and the shower was amazing. The hotel is located close to the tram and lots of shops, great position for those wanting to explore. For anyone wanting to stay at this hotel, just remember it’s not for a quiet stay, it really is just to put your head down so you can explore.

Saisfactory in needs improvement for a duluxroom
The deluxe room is on the 5th floor. No privicy with noise from the toilet to the bed. Be warned hahaha. The mattress was extremely soft. Not to our comfort. It sinks into the 2 people. Bath tub is very nice to have. But it really needs to be cleaned withing the old cracks. To plug the side lamp for the bed ypu have to connect a very short extension cable begibd the bed under the mattress. Not very clever. The room smells like sewage i think you need to close the drainage plugs in the sinks. Ithet than all these comments. The room was fine. There is lots of space in the room. Quite big. I would not not rush to choose this room again. But you never know. The hotel is approximately 23 minutes walk from central station.

The rooms are not as advertised in the pictures our room was tiny far to small for two people. I swear the linen cupboard next door was bigger I told the staff at reception but they would not move us. The rooms are not cleaned properly under the bed was disgusting. Hooks and fixtures were broken so no where to hang clothes everything had to go on the floor. There was a a joke wardrobe that was 3inches thick so useless. They should not be allowed to advertise pictures of nice rooms and then squeeze you in a tiny room it spoiled what was otherwise a nice trip

Hotel itself was well located especially for a short visit. The staff were very friendly and we were happy to be able to drop our luggage before checkin. Area was not too loud but other guests in the hotel were very loud when coming in at 3-4AM.
