  • Heron accommodates 2 people. It has a spacious king size ensuite bedroom with French doors leading to the balcony on the upper level and a large open plan Lounge with Dining area downstairs. It has a fully fitted Kitchen and an additional Toilet which is on ground floor level. All rooms have excellent loch views and are equipped with satellite TV, telephone and central heating.It has a large water side decked area with patio furniture and steps leading down to a barbeque on a private beach. With fantastic views across the loch Heron Cottage is perfectly situated with its own beach offering privacy and seclusion ideal for honeymooners, romantic breaks and chilling out time.

Great stay in a lovely property.

Been a couple of times now and just love it so much. House is lovely decorated and spotlessly clean. Views are amazing lovely just to sit and look out. Easy to walk to Lomond Shores and into Balloch where there are nice places to eat and drink. Easy to book and Liz and Wendy are so helpful.

Heron Lodge Loch Lomond

This is the 3rd year we have returned to Auchenheglush lodges. The lodge was as we expected beautiful,clean and comfortable. The location of the lodge was fantastic with breathtaking panaramic views over the loch and beyond. We will most certainly be back to visit. A☆☆☆☆☆

Amazing setting

Amazing location, right on edge of the loch. Very clean and comfortable. Only problem was that the mattress was way too soft for us. The lodge staff did their best to remedy this for us. Overall a lovely lodge, in an a beautiful location. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back, if the bed had a firmer mattress.

Beautiful location, spotless, furniture tired

We have stayed here numerous times, and absolutely love the location, the facilities , and how clean the property is. However, we feel that the luxury description no longer applies, bed very soft and uncomfortable, tub chairs in living area, very hard and worn , so unable to relax looking out on the beautiful view. Would benefit from an upgrade to more suitable, comfy seating, so we could sit there all day .

Ideal Loch Lomond lodge

As always the service from Wendy and Liz is first class. Lovely welcome on arrival and The Heron lodge was spotless and warm when we got there. This lodge sits right on Loch Lomond - open your window and you can almost touch the water! The sound of the calm loch at night is amazing. We have stayed here many times and we will be back again no question! 10 out of 10

Loch Lomond heavenly haven

What an amazing property! Obviously, the views are incredible and the photographs in the listing, as good as they are, really don’t do it justice. The property is well distanced from other properties and feels private and well equipped for cooking at home. There are plenty of places to visit nearby but after touring all of both the east and west coast the best view is probably from the Heron cottage. After thinking long and hard about how to make this place even better, the only thing is to have a sieve for draining rice but that’s it... Perfection.

Idyllic setting directly next to Loch Lomond

This place is a hidden gem. It is so lovely to wake up right next to the loch. You can walk to Duck Bay Restaurant and Bar from here (15mins) or Cameron House hotel - which has more bars and restaurants (20 minute walk). The walk into the small local town takes 30-40 minutes depending upon your destination. The lodge has everything you need for a relaxing two person trip. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all and enjoy nature - there are lots of lovely walks in the local area and many lovely areas and small towns to visit by car. Also it is 30 mins from Glasgow airport, so not far to travel. I shouldn't say too much more or it will be fully booked next time we try to visit!

Love Heron Lodge!

We go here once or twice a year. As usual, it did not disappoint, although we both thought that the pressure in the shower was not as good as previous visits and the now doorless wardrobe is a bit strange. The mattress might also be due to be replaced. The new carpet was lovely, very luxurious underfoot, although we did miss the tartan! However, the main event is that deck! Could sit on that deck forever. It's the location right on the water that makes the place so special. Going back later in the year.

A sunshine weekend

We were fortunate to have the most fantastic weekend with lovely sunshine the lodge is beautiful couldn't get any closer to the loch in fact you could imagine you were actually on a boat sitting looking out they had everything you could want in the lodge and the bed was so comfortable found it awkward trying to retrieve the key from the key box as the numbers had faded and there is a fair walk to the lodge from where you park your car ok if your active but my husband found it a struggle I'm not sure if the road into the estate belongs to the lodges if so they need to address the potholes in the road it really needs dealt with .

Heron Lodge As always Amazing !

We have been coming here twice a year in all seasons for decades and have never been disappointed. Happy to recommend - Location in my opinion the best in Loch Lomond .the Lodge and facilities first class and plenty restaurants /shops close by . Will be back again soon .

Beautiful location

My wife and I stayed for two nights for my daughter's wedding at the Cruin. We couldn't have been happier with the lodge which is spacious, well equipped and is located by the side of Loch Lomond, a truly spectacular spot. We would recommend the Heron lodge to anyone looking for a quiet and cosy retreat.

Beautifully situated cottage.

Lovely lakeside cottage, views from living area and bedroom look out over Loch Lomond. Lots of Munros within easy reach. Tricky junction from the cottages onto the main road.
