West Dunbartonshire Holidays

In the morning, after checking out, I realized I had left a book in my room. I tried calling the hotel several times starting at 8:00 AM, but no one answered; I only managed to speak with someone at 9:30 AM. I explained that I had left a book in my room, provided the room number, and asked that the housekeeping staff be notified. The receptionist made a note of it, and I mentioned that I would return later in the afternoon. When I came back around 4:00 PM, I encountered a different receptionist who was unaware of my earlier request. I asked about the book, but she replied that she would have to check with the housekeeping staff and look through their carts. In the end, nothing was found—my book had literally vanished from the hotel room. This is completely unacceptable for a so-called "4-star" hotel. Moreover, it is by no means a 4-star hotel; the furnishings and finishes are dated, the property is in need of a complete renovation—the curtains even have yellowish stains, which is appalling. The only "4-star" feature is the cluster of trees and the garden in front of the building. Furthermore, the location is unsafe: the road leading to the hotel has no lighting. Behind the building, there is a large parking lot where local youths gather in their cars, playing loud music. I am certain that I will see neither my book nor this hotel again.
