The best area to stay in Aldeia is generally close to the Aldeia de Cima and Aldeia de Baixo areas, which form the heart of the village. These areas are characterised by their traditional Portuguese architecture, with narrow, cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. You'll find a few local shops and cafes here, providing a glimpse into village life. The main church, Igreja de São Pedro, is a popular landmark in Aldeia de Cima. This central location offers easy access to the village's main points of interest. For couples seeking a quiet and authentic experience, staying within Aldeia de Cima offers a delightful retreat. It's an excellent base for enjoying leisurely strolls through the historic lanes and experiencing the local pace of life. Many of the guesthouses in this area are beautifully restored traditional homes.Travellers looking for properties with more space and modern amenities might consider the slightly more spread-out areas just outside the immediate village centre, often still within walking distance.

For most travellers, the best time to visit Aldeia is during the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded. The spring months offer mild temperatures, generally ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural parks and vineyards. The landscape is lush and green, and wildflowers are in bloom, which is great for nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking or cycling.Autumn provides similarly comfortable temperatures, typically between 18°C and 28°C. This period is particularly appealing for those interested in wine tasting, as it coincides with the grape harvest season in the Setúbal wine region. The crowds thin out after the summer holidays, offering a more relaxed experience for couples seeking a tranquil escape. While summer (July and August) brings the warmest weather, often exceeding 30°C, it's also the busiest time, especially along the coast. If you plan to visit in summer, be prepared for more people at the beaches and popular attractions.
