The area is surrounded by cenotes, lush jungle, and vibrant marine life, making it ideal for nature lovers and eco-tourism. The famous Tulum Ruins, underground rivers, and adventure parks are all a short drive away. Akumal maintains a laid-back, quiet atmosphere while still offering great restaurants, beach clubs, pharmacies, and convenience stores.

Getting around

For the best experience, we highly recommend renting a car during your stay. Akumal and the surrounding areas are spread out, and having a vehicle makes it much easier to visit beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, and nearby attractions.
