Varko's lovely beach and pristine waters are a paradise for snorkelling enthusiasts, and a private jetty is at guests' disposal for those eager to hire a boat. Whether setting off for lunch on Meganissi or Lefkada, venturing to the enchanting islands of Kalamos and Kastos, or exploring the picturesque inlets of the mainland coast, the possibilities are endless.
A short 10-minute drive from the villa leads to the quaint village of Pogonia, home to two traditional tavernas and a kafeneio—a perfect place to savour regional produce and experience a warm welcome (philoxenia) from the locals. Extending the journey by another ten minutes brings you to Palairos, a coastal town in Greece's Etoloakarnania region, offering an abundance of bars, restaurants, cozy cafés, bakeries, and well-stocked supermarkets. History enthusiasts can explore the Mycenaean ruins of Ancient Palairos nearby, delving into Greece's rich past and uncovering the ancient secrets of the area.
