Nice Overnight to see Temples

I wanted to try an Agriturismo. Basically it is a functional farm that offers accommodations. Fellow visitors were numerous and friendly. Staff seemed somewhat overwhelmed. Food in the restaurant was excellent although our order was incorrect. Price was reasonable, property was clean. Rooms were large and comfortable.

Comfortable relaxing place with a great restaurant

We loved our stay at Passo dei Briganti! It's about 8 minutes by car from the Valley of the Temples, and about 15 minutes to San Leone beach. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and had a nice assortment of savory items and pastries, but the real star is dinner. We ordered two amazing fish dishes, plus roasted vegetables from their garden and a salad of red and green tomatoes, and then when we saw a pesto white pizza among their pizza offerings, we had to get one of those, too. We couldn't finish it, so our waiter boxed it up for us and we ate it for lunch the next day on our way to Siracusa. The meal with a bottle of Sicilian chardonnay, a bottle of sparkling water and a pistachio tartuffo for dessert was 78 euros. Our room was spacious and clean, but the bed was a little on the firm side. It was a "queen" that was actually 2 narrow twins pushed together, and each side creaked differently under our weight. Despite this, I would come back here in a heartbeat and stay at least 2 nights to get more beach time, and a chance to see more of the town of Agrigento.

Worst hotel experience in Sicily. Room smelled so bad and was not changed. We rented another place and had to drive around in dark to get there. In sum the place is a dump.

This is in a somewhat isolated location. You drive under the graffitied supports of the autostrada and the views from the property are of the autostrada. Our room was on the interior of the property so we heard the dinner crowd late into the night. Staff was amazing and so helpful!

Disappointing stay and meal

Disappointed in overall experience. I was expecting something a little rural as an agriturismo however this is near town (300m away) and near a highway bridge. The air conditioning in the unit did not work well and with temps around 35C it was very uncomfortable until late in the evening with open windows. The restaurant was similarly disappointing. Grilled vegetables had no seasoning, my fish cous cous dish was barely warmed and my wife's grilled fish was also lacking any spice. Overall would not recommend this agriturismo.
