The room was beautiful and very clean. The option of a little breakfast room where you could make your own breakfast was great and the staff were all lovely and helpful.

Wonderful old building. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Apartment was perfect for our months vacation, with the added bonus of a small veranda with table and chairs. Situated in the centre of the city of Adelaide and within walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Victoria square which was across the road from the main entrance had the added advantage of the tram to Glenelg. Parking facilities available near by and reasonably priced

After a ten day road trip in the Outback I wanted a decent room with a bath to relax before heading back to Melbourne and the Majestic was perfect. Good, central location and a very comfortable room with everything I needed. Although I was up fairly early next morning, it was good to know that checkout was a city-friendly 11am. The hotel’s name is a bit of a misnomer though - the rooftop is neither majestic nor garden like!

Wasn’t sure what to expect when we turned up. Have to say it was top notch. The beds so comfy, the shower excellent. Staff were all really attentive and the food (we had breakfast and dinner) really fantastic (and multiple options). On top of that the bar, live music, sports bar and location to easily get the bus in to the city were all a wonderful experience
Thank you

The best area to stay in Adelaide is the Central Business District (CBD), particularly the southern portion, for its convenient access to most attractions and quality accommodation.
The Adelaide CBD is laid out in a grid pattern and is generally easy to navigate. The southern end, around Victoria Square and Gouger Street, is particularly popular. Here, you'll find a wide selection of hotels, from luxury options to boutique stays, as well as an abundance of restaurants and cafes. Rundle Mall, the city's main shopping precinct, is also within easy reach.
For couples looking for a sophisticated and convenient base, the area around Victoria Square and Gouger Street is ideal. It offers direct access to the Adelaide Central Market, a fantastic place to explore local produce and eateries, and is a short walk to cultural institutions like the Art Gallery of South Australia and the South Australian Museum. The city's tram line also runs through this area, providing easy transport to Glenelg Beach.

When is the best time to go to Adelaide?
The best time to go to Adelaide is during the spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) months.
These seasons offer pleasant weather conditions, with mild temperatures and less humidity than summer. This makes it ideal for exploring the city's attractions, enjoying outdoor dining, and visiting the surrounding wine regions without the intense heat or the cooler, wetter conditions of winter. You'll find it comfortable for walking around the city centre and along the River Torrens.
For those planning to visit the Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale for wine tasting, spring and autumn are particularly good. The vineyards are either budding with new growth or displaying rich, autumnal colours, offering beautiful scenery. Many wineries also host special events during these periods, providing an enhanced experience for couples or small groups interested in culinary delights.
If you're interested in attending major events, Adelaide hosts several festivals in autumn, such as the Adelaide Fringe and WOMADelaide, which bring a cultural buzz to the city.
Where can I find the best nightlife in Adelaide?
Adelaide offers several distinct areas for nightlife, each with its own appeal.
The West End, particularly around Hindley Street, is Adelaide's central entertainment district. You'll find a high concentration of nightclubs playing various music genres, as well as pubs and bars that stay open late. It's a busy area, especially on weekends.
East End, primarily along Rundle Street and the surrounding laneways, offers a more refined evening experience. Here, you'll discover a selection of cocktail bars, wine bars, and restaurants that transition into lively evening spots. It's a good area for a pre-dinner drink or a sophisticated evening out.
Peel Street and Leigh Street, located just off Hindley Street, are known for their small bars. These narrow streets are home to numerous establishments offering craft beers, specialist cocktails, and a more intimate setting than the larger venues. They're popular for their unique drink menus and relaxed atmosphere.
Gouger Street, in the city centre, is primarily known for its restaurants, but many of these establishments also have bars that are busy into the evening.
