"Recommend parking in Magdalen Street car park (by the Mecure Hotel) free parking from 6 pm to 8 am (alternative parking in St Mary Arches was expensive). I was surprised at the large number of apparent homeless people gathering in Cathedral Yard right outside of the apartment, quite loud and drinking from first thing in the morning until very late at night and begging for money as you enter end leave the apartment. I have stayed here a few times now and each time has been very good. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, breakfast is spot on and the evening meals are delicious. I have to have a gluten free diet and the Farthings are extremely accommodating. The Farthings is my go to hotel when in Taunton area
