Well worth the visit, fab location and lovely country hotel. The restaurant is worth a visit as great local food cooked to perfection.

Beautiful old Elizabethan mansion that presents immaculately and gives you a real sense of history. Fantastic service - nothing is too much for all the staff. I will be returning.

Just an incredibly nice room with the best shower ever! Really nice hosts,

I booked a room for a Monday and Tuesday night as a treat for my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary. I wanted somewhere special and the Hotel delivered it for me. We were met on arrival and our car parked for us. The bags were taken to the room. The room was on the top floor overlooking the valley. The views of the English countryside were fabulous. A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!

Lovely hotel and fantastic staff. Would definitely return

We had a fantastic break, the hosts were perfect, the facilities great and we enjoyed the most amazing food. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a great range of local and home made produce and this was all followed by a mesmerising choice of hot food which included local produce. There was cake on hand all day along with fresh tea and coffee and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure we had a great stay.

I was frankly amazed at the quality of Briarfields immediately I walked through the front door. Everything looks freshly decorated, neutral colours, spotless carpeting... My room (No.8) on the top floor looked like it had been decorated yesterday, a small fridge with fresh milk and a bottle of water, comfortable bed, good quality clock/alarm. The bathroom was spotless.

Lovely walk to the beach and town, wonderful room and such a comfy bed just what you need after a long day
