"The quality and friendliness of this hotel was up to its usual high standards. Good choice for breakfast, full English was tasty and filling. The only downside we found was the bar, poor service, selection of cocktails and some prices were expensive. To the point we found a lovely friendly wee pub 5 minutes from the hotel and chose to go there instead for drinks."

"There was a mix up with the room which I had booked through Hotels.com but I was soon sorted with the one I had booked( at a cost)The following morning it had been sorted and upgrade cost refunded.Staff and room very good.Will definitely be back hopefully later in the year."

"Disappointed that the room we were given had opaque film over window, found out why when we opened window to find out view was a building site. Little sleep as could hear every footstep from either room above or corridor. Food in restaurant was delicious."

"The hotel is located just out the Railway Station Door. We were able to drop our bags, as we arrived earlier in the day. Convenient to see the Cathedral & Castle. Staff was very helpful, I take a medicine that must be refrigerated and they stored it for me. The real problem is the There is no A/C. Our room had the full afternoon sun and was over 80 degrees. "The room was great, bed very comfy, bathroom had a good shower. We had a meal in the restaurant and the service was slow. The food was generally agreed to be very good, one of the starters was small and not very hot. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to friends. "

"Stayed for one night, on our way back down from Scotland. Had a lovely time here, and wished we could have stayed longer. Arrived around 6pm, very easy parking and checking in to our room. Then had a lovely meal downstairs in the Penny Blue restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was served very quickly, and the staff were attentive. The room itself was excellent, very spacious with a comfortable bed. It did get a little warm in the night for our taste, but they had a fan available which...
