"The view from the room was spectacular. Sam and Annie were lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Infact we were talking to her about lemon cola that was available years ago and as we were leaving she presented us with a can she had seen in the supermarket. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Lots of little extra touches such as an honesty bar with alcoholic and soft drinks and snacks available 24 hours. Would definitely return if visiting this area again. "We’ve decided to pick this hotel for my 40th birthday stay as it has such good reviews. Sadly we were a bit let down. It’s just next to quite busy road and the soundproofing of the room was not great (we could hear everything from the upstairs room:walking, conversations, their TV). Condition of the room was a bit tired as well… The staff was lovely and breakfast was nice. Grounds were nice as well as quite a bit of greenery, birds chirping etc. It’s just sadly it was not 10/10 for us…"

"What a fabulous hotel. The couple who run it and own it Rebecca and Steve are the perfect hosts (apart from Steve’s Dad jokes). The food is always freshly cooked to order. Hot when it arrives and very tasty. The whole experience is amazing. From the beauty of the decor to the amazing layout, bar, dining and lounge area. Rebecca and Steve work extremely hard to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We will be going back in the near future. Don’t miss out by looking elsewhere. "

"Unfortunately the pub was closed for our Tuesday night stay. This meant that we had to drive to another pub for our evening meal, which wasn't very good at all. Also meant that as the driver I couldn't have a drink. Which was the whole idea of staying at the Hood Arms was an evening in an old pub. Breakfast was supurb as was the room. Great place to stay just not (currently) on a Monday or Tuesday. Landlord was really appologetic and very helpful."

"Very friendly and welcoming staff. No lift so be aware of this if you have disability needs you'd best request ground floor. Parking plentiful. Overall it's a charming example of a hotel which still has character...no key cards here!"

"Our 2nd stay . The general condition of the hotel is in need of tlc, but we really enjoyed our stay , bed comfy ,room spacious . Food very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Not far to walk to the beach ."

"Lovely room with sea view. Large comfortable bed and a good selection of tea and coffee. An excellent full English for breakfast - probably one of the best we’ve ever had! Only one small negative - really cheap and flimsy loo roll! Will definitely stay again."
