Lovely host and breakfast. Room was perfect for a 2 night stay.

Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.

We really enjoyed our stay at The George,everything was perfect..the room was very comfortable and looked great when we first opened the door.. the staff are friendly and helpful..breakfast was good too lots to choose from ..and the bar staff are very obliging especially Connor..They have a good team there..and every where is spotless,also the Hotel is in a good position…

We loved the place: it’s a charming, quaint old cottage that’s had a sympathetic B&B conversion and is exceptionally neat, tidy and spotlessly clean. James and Katherine are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and good fun. Everything in the breakfast room was beautifully presented and laid out with precision, and the hearty breakfast was, of course, exceptional! Everything is home-made or sourced locally. James makes his own bread, preserves and granola. Our room was “bijou” but...

We had a comfortable & wonderful stay. The owners & staff were very helpful & polite. The hotel was a peaceful setting with wonderful grounds.

Breakfast excellent extensive choice, room lovely spacious great view with a balcony tastefully decorated . Good parking available onside. Close to all amenities staff helpful. Bad points, the shown pool and jacuzzi were closed due to the local hosepipe ban apparently this was mot communicated in the hotel website or Expedia only when we got there. Shower pressure not great overall it was good.

We received a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival and were looked after extremely well for all of our stay. The hotel is spotless throughout and is run by a family who want their visitors to enjoy their stay. Food is excellent and is cooked to order. Delicious! Only slight downside is that as this is a small hotel, there are no lifts thus it is not really suitable for those with mobility issues as all rooms are 'upstairs'. For all other visitors, you will enjoy your visit.

Excellent location.The Anchor hotel was right on the southwest coast path. It was a really lovely sea view room. The Anchor has everything we needed. The food was excellent. We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the morning.

Second time here, another lovely room with plenty of space and well lit too. Parking was easy. Will definitely stay again.

Perfect for a couples weekend away! Excellent stay thank you all! So nice to sit on a terrace looking at the beach and sea, whilst eating a very good breakfast. Booked with our 12yo Labrador. Stairs were a tad steep but she was happy being carried up 😁 Staff are very helpful and the location is just stunning! We will be back

We were made very welcome by John and hadall we needed for a very comfortable stay with our two dogs. There were lots of little touches that added to our good experience-including welcome bags for each dog and more than adequate continental breakfast. We would highly recommend a d stay again. Friendly staff. Good location. Room was clean and had lots of tea and milk provided. Shower room a little smelly due to damp? but water lovely and hot. Breakfast was very nice. Pizza on 1st night tasty and good value but was not told that no meals provided on a Tuesday night but found somewhere else to eat easily We would stay hear again .

Have stayed here several times before and hope to again. As ever, everything was flawless - splendid dinner, comfortable room - particularly like the en suite, substantial breakfast and, surpassing all, friendly, obliging service. Surely a benchmark for all those who purport to run a 'country inn'.
