"I stayed here with my 5 year old, and we both had a wonderful time. The location is great - a short walk through some gorgeous gardens to the sea front, and the walk back up to the town centre / train station takes in a kids playground, another little public park, and a nicely refurbished Victorian Pavilion with a cafe and some very nice public loos. The hosts are lovely, the breakfast is delicious, and the bedrooms have been really nicely refurbished."

"All the rooms named after birds . Makes a change from numbers. They also changed rooms for me to accommodate my disabled wife. Staff were very helpful and very polite. Nothing was too much trouble."

"Comfortable room with excellent tea making supplies - and a good sized mug each! The floor fan was useful as it was very warm. The hotel kindly allowed a later check out with a prompt and polite response to our request. Check in was efficient and simple. The evening meal was superb - great value and the pavlova! Wow! Chef’s kiss! All in all - a beautiful historic building and a really enjoyable stay. We will return I am sure. "
