I used to stay in the terminal and arrived at my final destination exhausted. Lately I stay at the Aurora Hotel at KEF. Easy/safe walk from the terminal. You get some sleep and a great breakfast, and arrive rested and ready to enjoy your vacation. If your layover is long enough you can even visit one of the hot spring lagoons nearby or near Reykjavik. "

"We had a great stay at this hotel. Everyone was very nice. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Reykjavik. The lady at the front desk was super helpful. She helped us figure out how to use public transportation to get to the city center and buy some medicine. The room was nice and specious. There was no Phone in the room, so we had to go to the front desk if we needed something. I recommend this hotel just know is far from Reykjavik city. "
