What a fantastic and peaceful 5 night stay. The hut was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was powerful. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking for a comfortable and peaceful get away, and would certainly stay there again. Due to the hot weather and many wildfires in Wales, there was a BBQ and fire ban, so we had to alter what we had planned to cook, with only 2 hob rings, a microwave and a small fridge, but with a bit of organisation and regular...

My wife and I stayed for one night on 21/10/17. We received a very warm welcome from Martin and his team. The pub itself was great with a wide selection of drinks. The accommodation was quirky, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Chester and the surrounding areas. The food and service were excellent. The free parking right opposite was a bonus too. We'd have no hesitation in recommending The Golden Eagle and would stay there again.

Great location, well appointed and comfortable and a very helpful host

A friendly welcome to the property. Although nowhere in the village to eat in the evening, we were recommended a restaurant 5 minute drive away in Corwen. Straightforward continental breakfast in the morning available. As the pub shut at 10pm, there was no late night noise so enjoyed a good night's sleep. A great base for exploring the area.

Very good and especially for the price. Very comfy bed and pillows. Great shower. Wifi excellent and included in the price paid. Good facility as expected ie tea, coffee. Only thing to be mindful of for other guests would be to say the property doesnt make clear that they wont send you details of how to self check in until the actual day of your arrival, as you need a door pincode to access your room, and its very difficult to make contact with the property. However, i would stay there again as...

We had a wonderful stay at the shepards hut. The heating and lights had been put on reasy for our arrival as we were later than the check in time . Carol the owner had messaged me earlier in the day with directions which was a nice welcome. She had also given us a lovely recommendation for somewhere to eat that evening. We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for what we needed. Somewhere to sleep after a gig for a party of five.

Everything you need for an overnight stay

Great location, excellent accommodation and in a beautiful building. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the room was very comfortable. We were 2 nights mid week and experienced no noise at all. Really not sure if it would have got noisy at the weekend - such a sturdy, well built hotel not paper thin walls and windows like others!

Clean, well-run, efficient staff & systems in an excellent location. Been my go-to place several times when I need to stay overnight in Liverpool

Had a great stay. I’ve stayed there before as well

Lovely room great location

I stayed at the Lord Nelson Hotel for 3 nights in April 2015. I was very impressed. Considering it was a reasonably priced hotel I didn't expect too much. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Our room was a decent size and had all we needed. And it was very clean and tidy. The location was excellent, so near Lime Street Station and places to go. A really good base and continental breakfast (displayed nicely and plentiful) was included. Quite a result all round.

Very good selection of breakfast, clean facilities and an overall good place to stay. Kevin the owner was great company

Perfect stay! Great for groups and location is perfect
