Under Foreclosure - Stay Away!

Stained carpets, no locks on the doors, no water in the pool, filthy bathrooms with holes in the ceiling, unchanged beds, and unresponsive staff ... During our stay, an Auction sign went up in front of the hotel. The staff informed us the bank now owned the hotel and it would be auctioned off the following week.

Go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Sugarland Visitor’s Center. After watching a short video about this national treasure, you can find maps and trails to hike - short 1.5 mile ones, or more challenging. They even have a blacktopped trail for moms with strollers! You can choose a different scenic trail to explore for every day of your stay! Be sure to drive up to Clingman’s Dome and walk that trail to the highest peak. On the way, you’ll cross the line between Tennessee and North Carolina where Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the park. We visited mid-October which was spectacular for fall foliage color!

"Not impressed"

Our room was older. I found a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower rod. There was a sign that it is up for auction over where the Wildwood sign was. A hard place to get in and out of. We do not care to stay there again. It was OK for short notice.
