This is a nice, family-run hotel. The room is quiet and clean and the family is nice. The breakfast buffet was very good too. Be aware that even tho you may have booked/reserved this room with a credit card, you must pay with cash when you get there.(There is an ATM nearby, within walking distance.) You should also be sure to bring your own soap because nothing is supplied to you except towels.
Pension Café Seelos is situated in the Tyrol area of Austria so the scenery is stunning. While the hotel offers light snacks and drinks (speciality exotic cocktails) there are a number of good eateries close by. There are really nice walks to nearby villages. There is also a bus service to Innsbruck, about 1 hour away.
To our surprise, the hotel is part of a historic site, on the "salt route", with a castle above you in the hills and a museum, chapel, 14th century salt barn and a restored klause, a fortified building, around you. From the castle there is a fabulous view of Reutte. There is plenty to see, just within the hotel grounds itself. The staff are friendly, and our accommodation was clean modern and spacious, in a new building designed in keeping with the existing traditional ones. There was a good choice and range of prices on the dinner menu and breakfast was plentiful using a buffet style system.
As other reviews have said, this hotel isn't near anything else so you need to plan to eat at the hotel. However, the food is excellent. There's not much flexibility for dining - everyone eats at the same time so it's a bit regimented but not really a problem. We bought a set 5 course meal for 25 euros each and although there were other things available, this was by far the best value. I believe food can be bought more cheaply than this if booking meals at the same time as the room. However, even though the cost might seem a little expensive, for the food we got, it wasn't as it was excellent.
If you are skiing, you need to make sure you catch the free hotel shuttle bus otherwise it's an expensive taxi ride.
