Stayed in hotel while visiting with granddaughter in Middlesbrough. Somewhat lengthy drive each day but acceptable. Everything about hotel very nice. Food, cleanliness, front desk staff, especially breakfast service staff. Only issue was hangers in wardrobe (in room 124). Majority of them were bent and would not come off holder. Nearly impossible to hang trousers or shirt on hanger unless you can get it out.
had a great time, you get no signal for vodaphone or o2 so if you really want to get away its ideal. Th local pub is good too Peter and Hillary will bid you a very warm welcome. All in all fantastically relaxing

Really a nice place, small but really well done. My room was spacious, full bath separate, lots of extras in room, an actual electric teapot and lovely selection of teas and snacks plus wine glasses. Great breakfast in a nice dining room with a view, and the owners/staff are extremely friendly. Really loved staying here and would absolutely recommend.
We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was of a good size for us two and our little dog. Its quite hard to find decent accommodation that is pet friendly, so this was ideal as we could have our recently acquired rescue bichon with us. Food was varied and of a good standard. Lovely area to explore and walk. Will definitely be booking again.
Our hosts were extremely helpful, informative, friendly and always cheerful. The breakfasts were above and beyond many 4 star hotels, freshly cooked and always served with a smile (and a quip). We couldn't recommend the place any higher - 10 out of 10.
A lovely modernised Victorian family home with quality furniture and decoration, all with wet rooms. Breakfast beautifully prepared and presented and cooked to order. All food top quality and fresh as well as satisfying. The addition of daily home baked cakes, biscuits and breads - delicious! A most enjoyable stay.
Lovely room (no.3). Beautifully decorated and clean. Comfortable king size bed with good quality bed linen. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits in room. Bathroom very clean with good electric shower. Breakfast plentiful and beautifully cooked by the very attentive and friendly owners, val and Pete.
