4*? More like 1*

Posted 18-Jan-2015
We just recently got back from a stay at the Hilton in Leeds City centre. When we first arrived we were welcomed and told our rooms were available early! Brilliant start, reception were very helpful. Got to outside the room, the cleaner had left all the rubbish outside our door. Fair enough it could have been because we checked in early but after going out and coming back in at 5pm dirty towels and cleaners rubbish was still there. The inside of the room was dirty with dust/fluff all over the floor, dust in the bathroom, toothpaste all around the bathroom. The wall had lots of dirt marks on. We were laid in bed and could hear a ridiculously loud buzzing noise, so got very interrupted sleep. After reading further reviews I believe this to be the air conditioning. We didn't get robes even after being told we would when I rang and when I booked online. Pros: reception- they were amazing, as a same sex couple we usually experience several looks & views when checking into a double room at a hotel. Not here. They were extremely helpful. Cons: everything bar reception. The concierge was not at the desk when we were told he would be. We waited 15 minutes. Overall I wouldn't go back but maybe we just got a bad room?

Hilton Leeds City Hotel - a big thumbs down

Posted 02-Dec-2014
Pros: location & good facilities in the hotel - gym (didn't go but looked good) & a Costa (although very expensive)
Cons: room facilities and cleaniness staff knowledge of area
Location: excellent location, shops, restaurants bus station all very close
where to start!! the room was booked for two people flying in for a relaxing weekend from Ireland we arrive into the room and we have 1 bath towel and 1 hand-towel between two people the towels were actually damp 1 small shower gel between two people 2 small cartons of milk between two people (now this could be standard hotel policy but after travelling for a considerate amount of time a shower and tea/coffee on arrival and the following morning are nice to have) the hair-dryer didn't work loads of noise on the Friday night, we had to ring down to reception to send someone up. i appreciate this is out of the hotels control to a point but the rooms could be more sound proof the air-condition was very loud the rooms were cold - no extra blankets available in the room no extra pillow available in the room the back was missing from the tv remote - so the batteries kept on falling out, not a big deal but very annoying the staff didn't seem to know where anything was - e.g. where the bus left for the airport, Elland Road when we complained about all the above on leaving the girl on reception response was "I'll take a note of this, thanks" - left a bitter taste in the mouth especially when paying top price for a supposedly top hotel i definitely wouldn't stay here again nor recommend it for a friend

Leeds City Hotel

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Pros: The staff and location near the centre of Leeds
Cons: Deluxe rooms - upgraded to a Deluxe room there was little to find that was deluxe - no bottle of water, no biscuits, no mini bar - was it the safe...?
Location: Very central - lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from
The staff were generally very good and conscientious but the standard of accommodation was quite poor for the price charged.

1 nights stay after a concert at the 02 Academy

Me and my friend stayed for one night, we arrived at lunch time on the Friday and left on the Saturday afternoon, as we got the train the Hilton was perfect for us because it is literally next door to the train station and central to everything in Leeds City centre. From start to finish our experience of the Hilton was brilliant as we hadn't stayed here before, the staff were absolutely brilliant and didn't let us lift a finger whilst we were there, will definitely be returning again, Many thanks.

Enjoyable. The dinner was excellent and my sea bass was about the best I have ever had.

Hilton City Centre Leeds

Posted 19-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel was close to railway. So no need for taxi. Hotel clean, staff friendly, spacious room. Breakfast a good selection but coffee took an age to arrive, I had finished eating before it did. A tea spoon had yogurt on it from previous diner which was left as part of my cutlery set. Overall a nice hotel but the morning service let it down.
