Pros: Its comfortable, homely appearance.
Cons: Bedroom was quite hot and facing main square could only be cooled by leaving windows open, letting in traffic noise.
Location: Very convenient for Stourhead House and Gardens (National Trust).
Our overnight stay prior to visiting Stourhead was very comfortable and easy. Newly refurbished the room was beautiful, clean and well equipped. [When the television 'died' mid-programme we were offered another room with a fixed TV. We happily refused.] We had evening dinner at the George - very convenient and tasty. Breakfast was basic but well cooked with good quantities of all items. Staff were unfussy but helpful. Easy to find, geographically well placed and with adequate parking the George can be recommended for visits to this area.

Pros: Staff, Comfort and food
Location: Salisbury and Warminster are close at hand
A really good hotel. Very comfortable, good food and very friendly staff. Situated in a quite village but just 4 or 5 minutes from the A303 with direct access to Salisbury and beyond. Warminster town is about 10 minutes away Highly recommended

Redelijke Inn...maar de prijs...

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: Leuk pleintje.. Kamer gerenoveerd.
Cons: Personeel pub moet leren dat kamers verhuren iets meer persoonlijke aandacht vergt dan het bedrijven van een pub.
Location: Locatie klein dorpje. Nabij bekende dagbestedingen in Wiltshire.
Redelijke Inn, maar personeel erg afstandelijk... De volgende ochtend ontbijt ok. Ook nu bijna geen personeel aanwezig... De prijs aan de hoge kant.

Address Warminster. Actually several miles away.

Posted 26-Sep-2014
Pros: Cosy, old fashioned
Cons: See above
Location: Lovely little town. Beautiful views over the countryside from the top of Castle Hill which Is just opposite the hotel.
Place ok if a little tired. A shelf, hooks etc. in bathroom would be good. Had to keep toiletries on floor. Adequate shower head over bath but no holder on wall to fix it to or shower curtain. Nice little fluffy cat!

On-line discrepancies between agent and hotel.

Posted 01-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
Was fraught with issues on arrival, as we'd booked a family room online via Hotels.com which stated the room had a double and 2 single beds. I also telephoned Hotels.com to check this was the case, and it was confirmed. On our arrival, I was told that this was not a family room, and there was only a double bed and one single, and that we'd only paid for 2 adults to stay. The owner was not prepared to let us stay for the price paid, even though we had confirmation for 4 people online. She was adamant that she wanted an extra £20, which she stated was still less than the £115 she should be charging us for 4 occupancy. On telephoning Hotels.com, it was arranged that if I paid the extra, Hotels.com would refund the difference. I was quite annoyed that the owner was prepared to leave our family without a bed for the night, even though she would've lost the £75 we had already paid and the cost of our evening meals. However, the hotel was clean and the meals were delicious, but the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable (not to our liking) and noise carried throughout the pub into the rooms above. Although everything was sorted in the end, with the help of the owner, I would not consider staying there again due to the owners uncompromising attitude.
