"Loved our stay. Our first family trip away with our 10 week old baby and even she loved it. We had everything we needed at our finger tips. The only slight downfall was the Wi-Fi connection. It was quite hard to connect to and very slow. Being in an area with poor reception for data, the Wi-Fi was definitely needed but we both struggled to get any use out of it. Amazing place though, would recommend. "

"This property was absolutely spot on. Traditional building but with lovely modern interior with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lots of nice little welcoming touches from the hosts too especially in the kitchen with bread, milk and lots of other things being provided which was a lovely surprise. Area very quiet but also very close to local amenities. Would definitely recommend."

"10-15 mins drive to Kendal so easy to get there on major road. Well equipped accommodation. Good views across valley. Parking on site good.plenty of hot water and underfloor heating. Coarse fishing lake on site which wasn’t particularly advertised beforehand, or I may have brought some of my fishing gear!"

"Although there was on site restaurant it was closed for bookings and only take away Saturday and Sunday, then beginning of new week it did not open until Thursday and was fully booked both remaining days even though tried booking for Friday on Thursday. Of course there are cooking facilities in the room but when you book a week away you would like ro be able to have a meal without having to drive. Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay in a lovely place."

"The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. "This was our second holiday at High Bield - we stayed 2 years ago. It is a very special place to stay as it is in a wonderful location. We only used the car twice during the one week we stayed because all the walks and cycle rides could be done from the house. Windermere station was only a short drive away so we could easily pick up family arriving from London. Weather wasn’t what we expected in early June - warm for the first couple of days then much cooler with rain for the rest of the week...
