“Convenient, Comfortable & Not Crowded”

Conveniently located in city center - close to attractions, historical sites and restaurants. Beautiful lobby with cozy, oak-paneled lounge and very friendly staff. Spacious guest room was nicely decorated, comfortably furnished and even had a quiet heating/AC system that worked gently, without blowing directly on the beds. Bathroom had large counter, was furnished with big, fluffy towels and name-brand hair & bath products. The only drawbacks we found were that the shower tile grout could have used an update, and the parking garage was slightly under-lit. Considering the value room rate, however, this hotel was tailor-made for a perfect getaway.

“My favorite place to stay in Springfield!”

This hotel is beautiful. The staff is SO friendly and kind. The rooms are elegantly decorated and you can't beat the price! The room I stayed in needed to be vaccuumed more thoroughly, and one bed had a down comforter and the other bed had some foamy blanket thing, so the fact that the beds didn't both have down was disappointing. But overall, I rate this place highly!

“Ok Hotel for the Area”

Staff working at the desk were not overly friendly, the room had been renovated and was clean and nice, looked like thy spent the least amount re-doing the bathroom could use some upgrades. There is nothing to do in that area past 7:00 at night. Went over to Saputo's and got treated like "out of towners" a lot of attitude and a half an hour wait--this place would not survive in Chicago.

“Awesome Experience!!”

This hotel was BEAUTIFUL from the moment we walked in until we left. It was close to everything, lots of bars and restaurants and had wonderful room service. I don't know why other reviews were negative, it made me nervous but I'm soooo glad that they were so wrong! Even the water pressure in the shower was perfect and I'm picky. It was first class all the way and much more than I ever expected! Parking was close by and cheap. Well worth the money!!

The area we stayed at was downtown Springfield and it was great. Near lots of great bars and restaurants.

“Won't go again”

The worst thing was the restaurant - evening meal was ok, but breakfast was disaster. My husband got the buffet; I looked at menu, waitress said shed be back if I wanted to order from menu. She never came back so I didn't get to eat. Also she didn't ever bring hubby's juice he ordered. When my husband was almost finished, she went to the next table a couple had sat at & proceeded to take the menu off our table & giving it to them. They asked me if I was through with it & she said "Oh yeah, she's been there quite a while", never even realizing she never took my order. Needless to say, I went across the street to Starbucks where I could at least get a donut. We will stay somewhere else next time for sure.

“Within Walking Distance of all the historical Attractions”

The hotel was within walking distance of the Lincoln museum, library, and Lincoln's home. Great price for the location and what it had to offer. The price on Expedia was cheaper than the price through the hotel website. Would go back to the hotel again.

“Great location for a convention hotel”

The room was nice larger than most 2 double bed rooms. The only problem was my laptop would not connect to the internet in the room on the 10th floor but my ipad would. Laptop worked great in lobby. It was easy to reach the convention center through the tunnel walkway. Lots of restaurants and activities within walking distance.

“President Abraham Lincoln Hotel”

An established hotel across from the Hilton tower. Nice rooms. Very quiet. Nice pool in lower level, 3 feet deep one end, 4 feet deep the other end. Great for little kids. Nice staff. Good value.

Area recommendations

3 blocks west on Adams St is Cafe Moxo, which has fabulous breakfasts. They bake eggs or toast in a pan, and one gets a 2x10 inch strip of this, along with fruit or toast. Cafe Moxo also has good pastries. Two blocks north on 7th, and one block west on Jefferson will get you to the Abraham Lincoln Museum, a must see with a minimum of two hours.
