Excellent small and friendly hotel

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: Staff, beds, food, room position, everything really, absolutely no complaints.
The staff here ask you to treat the hotel as your home for your stay and they could not do enough for us. The restaurant food was as good as any I've eaten, including the presentation. It is just far enough away from the main square to keep the traffic noise down too. Each room is named and we were in the 'Classic' room overlooking the Cloisters and even being at the road side, the noise was not bad at all. Would most definitely return.

Luxurious hotel in the heart of everything

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: I loved the decor, the luxury, the cleanliness, the large room and bathroom, the excellent staff. Everything was just perfect.
Cons: I can't think of anything I would change.
Location: Heart of the historic center of Sorrento, close to all the shopping/restaurants, half block to the water/ferries, 10 min. to the train. Perfect!
Every single thing about this hotel and our experience here was perfect. The staff were all the kindest, warmest, nicest people ever, very helpful in every way imaginable. The room was luxurious, the bathroom was beyond wonderful, wifi was excellent, and the entire hotel is just so beautiful it is like being in a beautiful, old Italian villa, of the highest quality. The restaurant is incredible, Michelin quality food and service, and they take special care of their hotel guests there. Try the tasting meal, it's well worth it. If I am ever lucky enough to return to Sorrento, I will definitely stay here, and recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely, lush place to spend some time. It is a short half block to the water, a short walk to the historic area with all the wonderful shopping and restaurants, and surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. There are no negatives with this hotel.

We stayed at palazzo marziale for 3 nights and could not fault our stay there the location was perfect particularly for a local bar at which to watch the sun set over the Mediterranean! The breakfast was lovely and attached steak restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed for 7 nights on a bed and breakfast basis although there is a restaurant which is very popular for wedding receptions. It is an old palace with large and very comfortable rooms. It is right in the heart of Sorrento within a quarter of a minute walk to a panoramic view over the Bay of Naples, three minutes walk from the central square (Piazza Tasso) and ten minutes walk from the station from where you can get the train to Pompei, Herculaneum and Naples, and the bus service to Positano and Amalfi. The Italian style breakfast is taken in the bar area on the ground floor with a plentiful supply of sweet and savoury options, The owner, Paula, made us very welcome and we saw her every day. There is a plentiful supply of restaurants in the vicinity if you don;t want to use the high class Pallazzo's restaurant every day.
