“Avoid at all cost”
Absolutely worst hotel in my 15 years travelling through China, I recommend to Expedia to take it off their recommendation. My booking was based on hotel 4-star rating, and their facilities (swimming pool and sauna). How mistaken I was; hotel is FILTHY, just one look behind their counter should sound warning bell, their facilities are non-existent - "being repaired" is their official version. I was confirmed a non-smoking room, but all they I got me a horrible stinking smokers room. Expedia, PLEASE take it from your list, there are hundreds of better hotels in Shanghai.
“Great value for money”
Very good hotel facility with good sized rooms at a great price
“Good Value!”
We travelled with our two kids (12 and 5 year old) and stayed at this hotel for a total of 10 nights. When we checked in they gave us a suite on the fifth floor that stunk of cigarette smoke and had rotten food outside of the lift which was disgusting and a health hazard so we asked reception to change for a non smoking suite. They showed us another suite on the 11th floor on a cleaner block which we were quite pleased and happy with. It was clean and had lovely views. Communicating with staff is a challenge as they speak very little English (hence this is an everywhere problem in China). The sofa bed for the kids wasn't made when we arrived and it took from 2pm till 11pm and about 4 phone calls to have the maids around to make the bed. The room was cleaned everyday; towels changed everyday. Beds are changed only once a week though. On our second day when we returned to the room we found the suite main door wide open, at first we thought that the maids were possibly cleaning the room but unfortunately soon realised that the maids must have forgotten to close and lock the room on their way out. We were very disappointed and concerned with the safety of our belongings and wondering if we could stay there for the rest of the holiday. After calling reception to express our concern as they couldn’t understand a word we were saying we decided to make our way down to reception and ask for the manager, who was very apologetic and assured us that wouldn't happen again.
“Nvr use this hotel”
Hotel staffs barely speak English and they are not kind either
“Shanghai Comfort & Access”
Nice clean hotel located close to eating establishments and other amenties. The only negative things I have to say is 1) the foam materess on the sofa bed was too thin and uncomfortable and 2) we could have used a microwave oven in the room and 3) we could have used access to a washer & dryer, however there was a laundry close by 4) the internet was pretty slow at times. Overall I would stay there again and I would recommend it to anybody staying more than a week.
“close to subway”
ten-minute walk to subway, modern conveniences; or ten minutes walk in other direction to traditional / local market with breakfast for two at $1.50 total
“value for money”
I just wanted somewhere to put my head down while i explored Shanghai and this hotel was ideal for that as the location is quite central and near the attractions.Less than 20 rmb to The Bund by taxi. The Staff were keen to assist with anything i asked about ,the boys especially but the english was slightly below par. Nevertheless i got my message through on all occasions.I didn't use much of the facilities, had a meal and a coffee in the restaurant which was ok and had a swim in the pool which was fine too.I was dissappointed with the internet speed and reliabilty so much so that i chose not to use it.Maybe this is partly down to China rather than the hotel,i don't know.If you don't want to spend all your time in the hotel, this could be an ideal base as it was for me. This hotel is very good value for the price. The suites are large, spacious, comfortable and clean, and the hotel is well located. I would definitely stay here again.
